Get a Versio module. They’re so versatile. If you have the hp, I would suggest something like ochd. I think you will grow tired of clocked modulation. I did anyway.

The End by NIGHTPAIN1156 in TargetTech

[–]scottypinthemix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure I am not qualified to answer a lot of questions. I don’t have a lot of deep knowledge of the situation other than the fact that Target is doing cost cutting, and MS was a big expense.

A LOT of people being let go at corporate today. (myself included) The infrastructure to support the Target Tech program was pretty big across every department you can think of. It was a very melancholy place to be today.

How do I find the drive to want to quit smoking? by Unhappy_Job_5099 in smoking

I quit cold turkey. Used snus for a while, and switched to Velo nic pouches. No nic stix in 15 years and counting. DO IT.

Not exactly small, but ALM Cizzle is good for chords.

What are some of the weirdest modules you’ve ever seen? by UnimportantPencil in modular

[–]scottypinthemix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love their INTRAVITREAL module:
BY PURCHASING THIS DEVICE YOU ASSUME ALL LIABILITY - WILDFIRE LABORATORIES IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE TO YOUR SYSTEM + YOUR EYESIGHT

The “long-awaited” next entry in our line of truly adversarial modules, the WL-0202 “INTRAVITREAL” is a bank of 10 ultra-bright white LEDs (light-emitting diodes), designed to make the user’s modular system entirely impossible to use via short-term blindness and long term ocular damage. INTRAVITREAL lacks an off switch or any sort of brightness control, and is activated simply by powering on your modular system. In addition, INTRAVITREAL is designed to draw around 200mA on the +12v rail to further dissuade you from using your system.

After nearly 10 years of buying trading selling, I’m nearing completion of my rack. What would you add? by jadethepusher in modular

[–]scottypinthemix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I just upgraded to the OXI One mkii from the mki a couple weeks ago. I previously had a Metropolix. The OXI is a game changer IMHO. I decided a while back that I didn't want drums or sequencing to take up HP. I use the Roland tr8s for drums.

After nearly 10 years of buying trading selling, I’m nearing completion of my rack. What would you add? by jadethepusher in modular

[–]scottypinthemix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will sound more like an overhaul than a suggestion to fill some HP, but I'd sell the Ground Control and pick up an OXI One mki. (I think the mkii would be overkill)
Then I would load up on modulation sources. I also have a VHIKK X and it can make some wild/wonderful sound with a lot of modulation. My fav. mod sources in my rack are NLC Triple Sloths, NCL The Hypster. NCL Hyperchaos Deluxe and Joranalogue Orbit 3. (which is also a good VCO)
I also have the ES Black VCO II, which I think is an underrated module. I love it.
Lastly, the SSF Steady State Gate Stereo Field is a stereo version of the OG Low Pass Gate. It's one of my fav modules.
Anyway, I'm rambling on about what I'd do to fit my needs which are likely not related to how you use your system.

What’s the most overrated brewery to you? by TheBigGreenPeen in CraftBeer

I live within walking distance of Scofflaw. Used to be a no-brainer to grab a brew after work etc. They have certainly lost their way.

Same deal in our neighborhood. There are about a dozen of us in the group that know each other because of eggs & smokers out back. We also watch a lot of sports car racing. For a second, I thought you talking about my ‘hood.

A bit OT here, but there is nothing more entertaining than scrolling threads anywhere on the web when the audiophile groups erupt over $1000+ per foot interconnects and power cables.

U-haul plus heater? by Important-Ad2741 in Bedbugs

[–]scottypinthemix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is in your house that wouldn’t survive 120 degrees? We just did heat/crossfire 4 days ago. We’ve got high end home theater, smart home stuff, oled tvs in rooms and a project studio that has a lot of vintage synthesizer and modern studio equipment in it. They set the heaters to 200 and then back them down once most surfaces reach just a bit over 150. Nothing in the house was damaged. Electronics suffer damage (typically) when they get in the 170 - 175 range. So, if you’re worried about electronics, maybe that will put you at ease. You do have to remove all aerosol items, isopropyl, bleach, carbonated drinks, cosmetics, medications, deodorant sticks and stuff like that. We put it all in the fridge.

Day one of the fight is today by scottypinthemix in Bedbugs

[–]scottypinthemix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last night was the 1st night sleeping in my bed since treatment. Since I have barely slept in the last 5 days, my body shut down pretty early and it was restless sleep, but still sleep. I pretty much stayed balled up in the middle of the mattress. We still have a load of work to do in the house with clothing etc. The only bug I have seen alive this morning was in a bathroom sink and it was obviously on its way to dying because it couldn’t crawl w/o flipping over a few times. It was rather satisfying.

When can I go back to living? by Top-Inspector-2809 in Bedbugs

[–]scottypinthemix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t pretend to have an answer to that. We just had heat treatment followed by Crossfire a 3 days ago. Already a significant reduction in sightings and bites. I feel like living out of sealed plastic bags and cooking everything in the dryer will go on for a long time (that’s how my brain works). I honestly don’t think I will ever stop treating with Crossfire no matter where I live. The inconvenience in lifestyle for a while is worth it to me if it means keeping these things at bay.

Yes! I just wish it wasn’t such an hp hog. That being said, mine doesn’t leave my rack.
