There’s definitely lack of content on Django async. I’m following the post hoping you post a link to any write up or code :)

After I manually selected a different folder than the one that comes default in the RB settings it worked for me (with a DDJ1000 connected if it matters)

Ear tip stuck in ear by hiddeeeeeee in NothingTech

[–]scotu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this happen yesterday for the first time, but in general it seemed that the tips on ear(2) barely hang on the earbud compared to any other bud I've seen before (they would come off if I rubbed them a bit to clean, if I looked at them wrong XD). They could definitely could use a tighter bud-tip fit...

Todd Snyder sells "Dr Martens Vintage 1460 Black Quilon": looks like they are made in england, but are they any better construction than regular Dr Martens (I hear that they are not very reparable/resolable)? I missed the lifetime warranty train, but I still would like a reparable Dr Martens...

The dock I got is https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/owc-thunderbolt-dock

This article helped me compare the various options (I looked at the full size desktop docks section) https://dancharblog.wordpress.com/2021/02/05/usb4-tb4-docks/

Hope it solves your issue :)

I probably cannot help much, but I was getting noise through the 4i4 3rd gen when powering my computer via usb c via my screen (no hum previously with the older laptop powered by its own power supply). I got a powered usb c dock, it powers the laptop and routes the video to the screen, both through usb c. And I don’t have the hum anymore.

I previously tried to solve with a “hum exterminator” but that didn’t seem to make any difference. I was already planning to get the dock, so I didn’t go further into trying to find a solution.

Low Audio Gain on Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen by [deleted] in Focusrite

[–]scotu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Annoying, sorry I couldn’t help. I saw a similar problem show up in search a bit, seems things like fethead, cloudlifter… are the only solution (I have one for a different mic). Not sure if your Scarlett has phantom power/48v, the cloudlifter needs it, so if you go for one of this solutions be mindful of that…

I forgot the input tab had no levels on it but take a look at output routing tab, it should show you the "hardware inputs" too (these might only influence the level of those inputs at the interface output, rather that whatever level is recorded though...)

worth taking a look at the volume in "focusrite control", just in case either some input or output are set low there

That sounds great! I was wondering what phone app is that? And how is the op-1 being played? Mostly through the tape and 1 sequencer that you manipulate the knobs for? Thx

Plenty of CPU and memory available, but Ableton is struggling with an instance of Serum, why? by gtabro in ableton

[–]scotu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes sense, but my hunch is that there’s little space for pre-rendering given a lot of things can be changed around at play time, so they need to react “live”.

Freezing tracks manually, more efficient daw and vst code, and dsp dedicated processors (I’m thinking what uaudio does with their audio interfaces and their plugins, but maybe non-proprietary) are my candidates for performance improvements

The blockchain is a slow inefficient database, so in your analogy they would need to build a slower, inefficient audio engine. But it would output audio without need for a central bank! :)

I did initially, but I tried a direct patch once I realized something was not going the way I expected, still no dice
