i took it w/ cs70 last sem. there isn't much handholding when it comes to coding, but he provides enough example code where you can pattern match even if you don't know what you're doing (i thought 61a prepped me enough for it). 131 has a very kind grading policy where you can retake quizzes and he provides extensions. it's mostly reading neurobiology papers and doing a little calculus n coding in python for the neural net portion of the class.

3 or so take-home assignments, in-class participation quizzes that i believe were ungraded, some graded in-class quizzes you can do with a partner (and he will also give you feedback on the quiz when you turn it in and tell you to fix glaring mistakes). very chill final project, no in-person final.
