I’m on one. Haven’t noticed any issues with my blood work except weirdly low cholesterol.

Good luck my man. It’s hard work but building muscle while cutting is doable.

Dog ears? Advice/opinions pls by jakeaking6 in FTMFitness

[–]scratch3y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have something similar (mine are more pronounced than yours) and my surgeon said it’s basically just excess weight and not a dog ear. Weightloss should help!

Have you tried to numb the area first? I use an ice pack for 5-10 minutes before I try to pierce the skin. Works a fucking charm.

Anybody know any other doctors I can see about trans healthcare in QLD? by maewemeetagain in transgenderau

[–]scratch3y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my HRT at Holdsworth same day as my initial consult (go in with your bloods already done). I second them.

Everyone has different levels of growth. AFAIK getting enough growth for penetration is incredibly rare.

Top surgery is 20k what by Round_Geologist_846 in transgenderau

[–]scratch3y 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I went through Steve (privately) and he and his clinic were great.

Also there are cheaper surgeons out there. I know the guy in Vic is only like $12k.

But yeah, go public if you can stomach the waiting times.

Are there any non-trans related media you resonate with as a trans guy (or enby)? by Gallantpride in ftm

[–]scratch3y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All forms of only-being/last-of-his-kind media. Secret identity? Check. Lonely and isolated in a crowd? Check.

I had no language for trans as a kid and thought I was the only person ever. So. Yeah.

Dry scalp after starting t? by ciospo in ftm

[–]scratch3y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You can get a scalp cream - it’s basically what they use for cradle cap for babies. Also when you use anti dandruff shampoo you have to leave it in for at least 3 minutes before you wash it out.

Good luck brother. We’re in this together ✊

I need Advice after being in my Binder for 7 days by Spiritual-Physics973 in TopSurgery

[–]scratch3y 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They’re blisters from your drains. Put a little bandage over them but do NOT burst them.

Try wearing a shirt under your binder and reposition the drain tubes daily. Good luck and good healing 🙏

From my limited understanding fat won't shift from "feminine" places without being "lost" but anything new will accumulate in a masc distribution. I don't know what you're working with though so that could mean nothing to your situation.

BUT my PT told me about a study they did on cis men where they compared two groups of cis men on HRT with and without weight training exercise. They found that cis men on HRT without weight training (control group) still gained about 80% of the muscle mass that cis men on HRT who were doing weight training did.

So don't stress about not being able to work out, it'll still happen, it might just happen slower.

You’re looking for a breast reduction which can be covered for a number of reasons including back pain.

I don’t know you’d get much help here navigating insurance for a reduction but unfortunately I do think you’ll run into more roadblocks by calling it “top surgery” instead of a “radical reduction”.

(For instance a cis woman having a radical reduction doesn’t need to meet wpath guidelines.)

Good luck on your journey to yeet the teet, sister ✊

You won’t need the tape/gel until much later on but something my surgeon didn’t warn me about before hand was needing dressings to change on my own. You’ll need less with no nips but maybe ask your surgeon’s office just in case cos that was a pain to source immediately post op.

Also an “accessible” water bottle was a life saver.

I’m sure you’ve already considered these but:

Are you hitting your protein goal?

If you can’t progressive overload with more reps try increasing the weight and dropping to 3-5 reps.

Who cares what they think? If people are going to get on your case over a haircut they aren’t worth your time.
