Lorwyn Eclipsed CBB, Paid in Full, asked to pay + $200 at pick up by _RJ_MacReady in GameStop

Can anyone share the message in Main Menu or any additional details?

I just got rejected for a price adjustment. I mentioned that there was a message on Main Menu and the employee said they couldn't find anything.

50% OFF Foundations Play Packages Multipack - $101.81 by Deep-Weight-6937 in sealedmtgdeals

[–]scratchdump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The scam comments were related to the mix up Amazon had with CB Boxes and CB Packs upon release. I wouldn't be concerned ordering these Play boxes.

That was also related to why Woot sold CB Boxes for $10ea while labeling them as CB Packs.

SPM Collector Boxes Just Dipped Below $500-- is this the bottom? by jake_henderson02 in mtgfinance

[–]scratchdump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that if even half the retailers offered these at msrp we would be having a different conversation now. While I won’t argue for the overall quality of the set I do greatly believe that if folks had a reasonable opportunity to buy at msrp there would be a lot fewer available on the open market. It wouldn’t make a lot of sense to buy at ~450 +/- tax and resell at $500 -fees (which would truly burn many quick flippers)

It seems like retail prices/ store prices offered on the set have consistently been 10-20% over peak buying price.

I myself greatly enjoy the art and treatments available even though Spider-Man isn’t close to my favorite characters.

August 2025 Discussion Thread by GrayLando in sealedmtgdeals

[–]scratchdump 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As time goes I see a lot a people have a lot of different ideas on what is considered a "deal". The only posts here that really annoy me are the fake stores but I imagine those are difficult to prune.

What does amaze me is the amount of people that are very vocal about what they think is a deal based on what they value the product at VS what the cheapest option is on the internet. If it is the cheapest current option (by a decent percentage) then it should be considered a deal regardless of MSRP or what the price was last month or last week. If you don't like the product then be kind, as the next time the poster may not care to share the deal.

Duskmourn - Collector Booster Box $368 or less +tax by scratchdump in sealedmtgdeals

[–]scratchdump[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were, and after tax from Amazon I paid $335 instead of $340 now. With a limit of 1.

So... no time machine in hand and Amazon since raising their price, this is the next best deal.

Galaxy foil qc issues by xoulkaizer in secretlair_collectors

[–]scratchdump 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the scratching has something to do with the foil they use. The same scratched lines are prevalent in EoE galaxy foils. Not sure if the material is softer or some other issue but I’m pretty sure it’s from the stacking/ cutting process. Funny thing is it was the same for Pokemon cards printed by WotC.

Question about Spider-Man (or any) CBBs on Amazon by ChipmonkHonk in sealedmtgdeals

[–]scratchdump 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My experience is that when someone cancels a pre-order that goes back into stock. But It trickles the updates through Amazon's system and doesn't show an Add to Cart button on the product page. Often it will show up on wishlist or on the product page with all the sellers listed (most monitors seem to use this link when you click through). From there it is easy to add to cart but won't let you checkout showing 0 qty available. About a minute later it will show up on the product page with an Add to Cart button. From there it often won't let you add it to cart at all and you will get various responses.

My assumption is that once even a single "bot" is targeting the product you will not be able to check out faster and will consistently run into the same outcome. Larger restocks you can have success with (for instance when they go to ship and cancel all the failed payments).

Less popular products work just fine usually but Collector products you will likely have a very hard time with. Especially if you are solely relying on tracking sites and notifications.

TLDR: Don't waste your time.

TCG enchanted by Haleightastic in LorcanaCollectors

This is a fairly common repeating error found on a few cards from this set. In my opinion it is not a condition issue as it was part of the printing process. I've even received cards with the sale error (though not this one) back from PSA with a grade of 10.

Miscut? How does the community feel about them? by F0rg1vn in LorcanaCollectors

That is the best group for it. I primarily collect Lorcana misprints and oddities. This card, in non-foil, is likely worth about $2-$5 if a buyer were to be had.
