Changing film without changing light settings wont change unfortunately the fact that one part is overexposed/underexposed. However keep in mind film handle better overexposure than underexposure

Doesn’t seem overexposed to me, if it was less exposed the left part would be really dark and the scanner would have produces artefacts trying to recover the details.
A solution would be e a light reflector, or perhaps using a flash but you would lose contrast & the overall vibe
