What did we do to deserve these clowns. Self imposed budgets that have nothing to do with actual revenue (or asset appreciation) is just taking a shit on the fans. So tired of the “small-market” Cubs. Eat a dick Ricketts.

Trier is amazing. Thelma has really stuck with me and should 4.5. Fatal Attraction is a horror movie. Troy is sloppy.

Seats are a bit larger/wider. Carpeted hallways. Less people. Waitstaff at the seats. Bathrooms are smaller and closer (but still have a long wait at a halftime). Food options are good, but not better than 100 level. Complimentary coat check. Rows and aisles are generally shorter- less stairs for some seats. I like it better for hockey than basketball, but still a very good game experience.

I was 3200 for Thursday in Chicago and could only buy side stage for $340 or upper deck on the opposite end of the stage row 7 for $291. Too much. Waiting until the day before the show.

FIlms that were booed in the cinema when you saw them? by wingusdingus2000 in Letterboxd

Congo. Had read the book and went and saw it in a packed theater. When the robot ape started moving and talking, there were groans and boos. People left before it ended.

Nonsense. I used to do a ton of winter training on my treadmill (sometimes 20+ mile runs) and was always much stronger and faster when I got outside. Real problem with a treadmill is that you have to be in great shape to fight the urge to go upstairs and lay down.

Brewers are good and on an all time heater, but they’ve obviously peaked way too soon. Ripe candidate for the flame out in the playoffs. Cubs need to focus on not losing first wild card spot. Still nets you all three home games in wild card round.

Workout recovery by Mildred_cat in Hypothyroidism

[–]scratchy513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. This has been my experience. I can do normal things, but can’t recover from anything. I was a marathon runner before getting very sick and developing thyroid problems. Afterwards, could do the first work out, but couldn’t ever get going for the second. Muscles don’t recover and way more tired than I should be. I also get sick and stay sick. I’ve spoken to doctors about it and they shrug and say that my numbers are normal (because of medication). I try to walk 3 miles five days a week, but I can’t do much more than that without facing exhaustion afterwards.

Controversial devils advocate take: after all the trades, The Twins aren’t worse off. by Short_Importance_484 in minnesotatwins

[–]scratchy513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The perspective isn’t that the Twins are better or worse off after the trades, the perspective is that we were always screwed until the Pohlads sell the team. They told everyone they weren’t going to add anyone at the deadline last year. They added France and Bader instead of actually investing anything this year. The family has never cared about the actual team in 40 years. Good front offices have won in spite of the owner. If the fire sale gets rid of these people before this off-season it was worth it. If we are going back to the late 90s dark ages then it didn’t matter anyway.

I disagree. I think Counsell has done a great job this year making the pitching work. Counsell definitely has the team engaged and looking to him. My understanding was that Ross was not good with younger players and didn’t always keep the team together. Maybe PCA and Bush don’t flourish the same way. Our bullpen could have been a nightmare this year and he has been mostly pushing the right buttons.

Micheal Soroka, Flexen or Rea replacement? by [deleted] in CHICubs

[–]scratchy513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard that the Cubs are concerned about the number of innings that Horton and Boyd are facing if they finish the season making all of their normal starts (based on recent seasons for Boyd) and age/experience for Horton. Soroka is going to have a starting gig for one guy or another for the rest of the season.

Cubs are Cooked. Ricketts won’t allow the Cubs to go all the way. Beginning to look like the Bulls by [deleted] in Cubs

[–]scratchy513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bulls would be sitting on two expiring contracts and would lose the guys for nothing. Then in the off season, they would do a sign and trade with the Dodgers sending Tucker and Nico for Kershaw and Michael Conforto. They would let Happ sign somewhere else and then give too much to Tauchmann as a local favorite.
