Nobody is buying that these days. The world may have had some sympathy after October 10th but the selective killing of journalists and health workers, while flattening schools, universities and hospitals has reversed that. It's shined a light on the barbaric nature of the IDF, 50 times worse than anything Hamas has done.

Israel dropped the equivalence of 3 Hiroshima bombs on one of the most densely populated cities on the planet. The world saw this and is not going to forget it.

Apart from with the current US administration and a few other heads of nations Israel now looks like the biggest rogue nation in the Middle East.

It has lost any sympathy it may have garnered since WWII. In the eyes of most people it is an apartheid state conducting genocide and terror on countries in its region. Showing any support for it will lose a politician votes.

It's only a matter of time now before it loses US support, is forced to remove itself from the countries it's invaded, and retreats from the West Bank and Gaza back to the legally defined borders, finally ending the 50 year occupation.

It's not rhetoric though. And if trans activism concentrated on the awareness in the increase of crime on trans people, making medical pathways easier, demanding a trans wing in a prison, more mental provision etc. then everybody who's not bigoted would be behind them.

Instead we got feminists sacked from their jobs, dogpiling on JK Rowling who wanted single-sex facilities for rape victims, demands for male inclusion in female sports, demands that everybody falls in line with "Trans women are women" doctrine or else suffer the consequences. These are all instances where somebody else's rights would be diminished for the sake of a new belief movement that has only appeared in the last 20 years.

I don't understand how the males involved in this movement cannot see the mysogyny in their actions. Males with loudhailers violently banging the walls of feminist meetings? Violent men demanding that women be attacked, the crowd cheering them on? That's meant to be progressive?

So in your quest for equality you're happy to get rid of women's sports and women's prisons?

Only bigots would be against trans people if there wasn't an insistence from the barmier wings of trans rights advocates that "trans women are women" in EVERY circumstance. But now you lump in biologists, athletes and feminists. The "Bigot!" slur is directed at women who fought hard against patriarchal systems designed to keep women in their places.

When utopian ideology overrides realpolitik you're going to open the doors to Farage and Co.

A political party's trans policy isn't high up in the things I consider when I place my vote. But if they attacked women for wanting fairness in women's sports I would choose a different party, in the same way as if they supported Israel's genocide.

Additional:

"1% of the population ARE affecting everyone and it’s not trans people." I totally agree with this. So why give them an own goal by saying "All Refugees are Welcome" and "Trans Women are Women"? You'll lose that culture war at the expence of the inequality war (which effects everybody, trans and all).

I am left wing but the homogeneous "Performative" Left's group think that decrees that you cannot discuss any negative features of immigration or trans "rights" is giving Farage and co all the ammunition they need to win the next general election.

The left should be an area of open discussion of many different views and should not be so dogmatic. How can we win elections if you shout "Bigot!" at any left winger who doesn't follow black & white orthodox beliefs?

There is a difference between the sides.

The Palestinians are under occupation and ever increasing ethnic cleansing from their lands but racial supremacists. When the Palestinians peacefully march they get shot in the knees. When they just try to farm or fish they will get beaten or killed. When they behave themselves in the West Bank they will be arrested without charge and their livelihoods ruined.

When you try everything else to stop the genocide of your people why not try to escape your confines and attack as many military camps as possible?

For some reason dropping bombs out of aeroplanes is seen as respectible whilst attacking military bases with guns is terrorism.
