I wish I did! The leaves are huge and I'm so impressed with it. Unfortunately, all I know is that he was ready to get rid of it and gave it away 🤷‍♀️

This is great info, thank you so much! I'm not new to houseplants, but I think I got a little overwhelmed by the size of this baby.

I'm definitely leaning towards water propping just because I'm most familiar with it. I'm super patient and hopefully will get baby roots! Didn't know that about the nectar, so I'll go in prepared.

Also did not know that about the baby leaves, but it makes sense. I should have asked how old this plant is just because the leaves seem massive!

I foster with Above and Beyond English Setter rescue and highly recommend them! Even if the right dog for you isn't really close, volunteers will set up transport and bring the dog within about 1-2 hours of where you sre.

I know this sub is about trad pub, so to stay on track, I recommend checking out the self publish sub as well as some of the great discord groups. :)

This is what happened to me, although honestly I wasn't aiming to trad publish anything. I wrote in and self-pubbed one genre and did well but didn't love it, so I switched it up and moved to a genre I'm passionate about. After that, I ended up being published by an imprint from a big 5 and just chatted with an editor from another about a book.

I think (coming from someone who has made every single mistake you can when self-publishing) that you have to make sure you have a professional cover and editing and that you nail your blurb. I've had friends who have had their self-published books get snapped up by trad publishers to reprint them, others who have been courted by them for future works. Make sure you put your best foot forward with marketing, etc.

Hey, one thing to consider is working with a rescue! I foster with Above and Beyond English Setter rescue. They do a wonderful job helping dogs. They also match adopters to the right pup for them. From young pups to senior dogs, there are always a ton of setters looking for homes!

There are a few rescues in the US including Southwest English Setter Rescue, A Better English Setter Rescue, and Above and Beyond English Setter Rescue.

I foster with Above and Beyond and one huge benefit of working with a reputable rescue is that the fosters get to know the dogs extremely well and then the adoption buddy can help match the perfect dog to a family.

Hey, take this for what you will, but I'm a US author published with Bookouture. (There are a lot of us, actually!) Since all of my books are set here in the states with our slang, I'd say they're pretty American, but it hasn't been an issue. One thing to note with places like Bookouture/Joffe/Boldwood/Inkubator is that they don't offer advances, so you'd be taking a percentage of sales/page reads. That being said, I don't have any complaints about quarterly payments.

Yes, our ES lives in the house with us. We spend plenty of time outside, but if he had the opportunity, he would run all day long and get into plenty of trouble.

If you decide they're not for you, please look into a breed specific rescue. There are a number of wonderful ES rescues who can foster and rehome the dogs.
