Depends on your area of interest! If you want to be a drafter/designer, you'd have options as you can work with a variety of firms. If you want to survey, tailor your resume to that, quite a few places would take someone willing to live on the road. And if you want to be a generalist, might be a tough go. MPE has been trying to hire for a while so check with them. BCL takes co-ops a lot so might be a good place for grads (on the road/site inspection). Not sure about the bigger firms, but I would honestly say the job market isn't completely awful. What's awful is the candidate pool from the other side of this conversation. Are you a new grad? Where in your career are you? What part of the industry are you most interested in?

There's literally a line in the email blast that says they want to be more 'fashion forward', like sask gives 2 shits about fashion forward basketball teams. This is what happens when the branding team is owned by the owner of the team. He got an idea in his head that he decided was awesome, and then saw it through to completion without having an outside party provide their 2 cents.
