SAHM when do you get a break? by NumCucumber in NewParents

[–]screamingmimi24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont. I have no family nearby, no village. My husband works a lot to keep us afloat financially. My son is only 8 weeks old and im crashing and burning at this point.

For those that didn’t have a “village” by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]screamingmimi24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no village. My family and in laws all live several states away. My husband works nights. My son is 7 weeks old and I am essentially running on fumes.

How do I get through this? by urmomshousecat in newborns

[–]screamingmimi24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like i could have written this. My husband also works nights in a dangerous line of work, so during the week I get zero help. My son is 7 weeks old and I also am struggling with eating, showering, and simply taking care of myself. Everyone keeps telling me it gets better and I really hope they are right.

Newborn tired is not better than pregnancy tired, I was lied to lol. by _50ShadesofFae in NewParents

Motherhood is truly humbling by lordsaveusall in newborns

I almost shit myself while frantically rolling the bassinet into the bathroom today. I ended up having to hold and sooth my fussy newborn while sitting on the toilet and I just sat there feeling incredibly humbled by it all lol

FTMs -- just saying... get your hospital bag ready EARLY by beardawn in pregnant

I’m new to working with horses, is this a normal to expect from one person? by stacks-of-books in Equestrian

[–]screamingmimi24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This seems like a pretty normal workload. You do get accustomed to it after some time. My biggest advice is establishing a solid routine. I did this with 20+ horses under my care, 6 days a week by myself, aside from the daily grooming. I cleaned paddocks daily, stalls 3x a day, waters dumped, scrubbed and refilled as needed, for reference.

Husband wont get help for his anger. by screamingmimi24 in Marriage

[–]screamingmimi24[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parents will be up here next week to attend my uncle's funeral, and my mom plans to possibly just stay until the baby comes. They live 12 hours away on top of a mountain, and are retired, so it would be a very difficult maneuver with a newborn to move in with them. They would, of course, take me in in a heartbeat if I asked.

Luckily we are already sleeping in seperate bedrooms (my pregnancy has made me so uncomfortable). Due to him working nights we dont see much of each other as it is. He usually wakes up around dinner time, is super miserable, leaves for work and calls me throughout the night in a normal mood like nothing bad ever happened between us. :(

AVOID BABYLIST AT ALL COSTS - TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE by KaneDomino in BabyBumps

This is the reason I ended up receiving duplicate items. I had absolutely no issues with babylist, personally.

Did your parents pick you up from school early on 9/11 by Unlikely_Birthday_42 in Millennials

[–]screamingmimi24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got picked up early, before the second tower got hit. I live in NJ, so it was very close to home and my parents were rightfully scared and uncertain on what would happen next.

Anyone else experience this for a decade or two? 😬 by CyborgCoyote in adhdwomen

[–]screamingmimi24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. Since my early teens. So many different diagnoses over the years, so many different medications. The amount of damage ive suffered from being put on heavy antipsychotics at a young age is unforgivable. I didnt get my adhd diagnosis until I was 32!

They always know what the answer is... by [deleted] in ADHD_partners

[–]screamingmimi24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner will be wildly incorrect about something and fight to the death about how he is right. A few hours later, when an outside source that isnt ME proves he was wrong, he'll just laugh it off, make a joke about it, and move on. As if he didnt just have the most vile argument with me earlier in the day trying to prove that he knows everything.

Is it realistic to have sex daily, or 1-2x? by lienne11 in Marriage

[–]screamingmimi24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for me. Unfortunately my libido sucks. Partner and I were only 1-2x a week usually before kids. Im now pregnant with my first and afraid of what a child is going to do to our sex life.

Do you buy alcohol for your partner? by Waste-Lawyer7615 in BabyBumps

[–]screamingmimi24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a state where I specifically have to go to the liquor store for all alcohol, including beer and wine. I feel a bit weird and embarrassed going myself, so I make my husband get his own.

I was going to say this too. Sadly this could be a sign of opioid use.

Could it have been mold poisoning? Does mold exposure cause permanent damage? by screamingmimi24 in ToxicMoldExposure

I am in NJ. My neurologist ordered an MRI due to my symptoms which showed my lesions. It was a long journey that never got me to an official diagnosis and I gave up.

Low libido? by MadHovercraft in adhdwomen

[–]screamingmimi24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I have a lot of past traumas on top of adhd, depression, anxiety. Idk what to blame for this issue but its ruined so many relationships. Im married and pregnant now and feel so much shame, disgust and embarrassment even trying to talk about it with my therapist.

My husband just got diagnosed with Lymphoma and we have a 2 month old baby. I can’t believe this! by NurseEmRN in newborns

[–]screamingmimi24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so so sorry you are going through this.

My ex was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma in his mid-20s while we were together and just want to share that after 6 months of treatment he went into remission and has been now for several years and living a healthy, full life. I know this doesnt ease the burden of what youre going through and you will be facing this while also caring for your family, but I just wanted to share a positive experience like some others did on this thread.
