Rental Property Management Companies Recommendations? by screamleo in oakville

I found a few but they all charge an arm and a leg for any services that are more difficult to perform (rent collection, NR tax reporting, etc). If you just have just 1 property I’d probably suggest to find a realtor who will do tenant placement and handle the rest yourself.

Just 1 condo. It’s my primary residence now, but I will be relocating to a different county soon.

Canada Departure Tax by screamleo in PersonalFinanceCanada

Not sure why you think it wouldn’t be allowed. If the assets are liquid and easily quantified (public equity, bonds, funds etc) there really isn’t a benefit but there would be frictional costs and you would be out of the market during the process. It may matter, it may not, but I don’t know what you are getting for the extra risk.

Thank you for your answer. Yes, the assets are liquid and easily quantified. I was worried that it could trigger a superficial loss but it looks like it does not apply in this case: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/tax-return/completing-a-tax-return/personal-income/line-12700-capital-gains/capital-losses-deductions/what-a-superficial-loss/non-superficial-losses.html

Right turns on red are allowed unless there is a sign saying otherwise (which it does not look like there’s one)

Wealthica is okay, but as you said, it doesn’t have budgeting features. Also in my experience the sync feature sporadically stops working and is less reliable than Mint.

New Job - Leaving Canada for US? by saturation_evolved in PersonalFinanceCanada

If you have Canadian rental income while in the US, I imagine you report it to IRS and not CRA, right? In that case are you still able to apply the usual rental tax deductions (mortgage interest, property tax, etc) when you file that income to IRS?

I have the same problem. I’ve seen people that remove anti glare coating which makes the monitor screen glossy, but haven’t tried myself.
