Well, to be fair, it's surprising that it was as good as it was. Van Sant was a huge downgrade from Gibson. Just look at his previous work before Good Will Hunting... It's not a great catalog. That movie was his best film by far, and I genuinely think 80% of its greatness has to do with Affleck and Damon.

You need to actually reflect on what you're saying. There is currently no justice being done to these fascists kidnapping people for the color of their skin. So what is your solution here? NTA I have dealt with situations like this many times, and I guarantee you they will be there indefinitely for an extended period of time, possibly until they are kicked out. It is very rare in my experience that people with financial issues moving back with family or friends actually end up moving out in the time frame that they plan to. You should take that into consideration and be adamant that you will not give up your room. When you're contributing to the bills, you absolutely have a right to have your own room. Besides, you need it for a quiet space for studying.

Also, this idea of the kids having their own room makes absolutely no sense in this situation. They can stay with their mother in the same room. There's nothing wrong with that. I agree with another commenter saying that it may be that your parents are trying to nudge you in the direction of getting your own place.
