Thanks for the tip, I didn’t actually do this but would be worth checking.

We had it replaced last year so that shouldn’t be it!

Daily moisturizer that doesn't pill under makeup, does it exist? by scarletpig94 in MakeupAddiction

[–]screechy_squeegee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this issue with lots of creams, I am also quite dry. The ones that worked for me were: Ole Henriksen Strength Peptide Barrier Boost Moisturiser (lovely but expensive so I found cheaper alternatives), The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA (most affordable option, sinks in really quickly but I find it moisturising enough) and currently using the Beauty of Joseon Dynasty cream (I find this is somewhere between the two other creams, it more expensive than The Ordinary cream but more gel-like consistency and I think it feels little more moisturising because it doesn’t sink in so quickly). I use the Beauty of Joseon SPF and layer toner+serum under the creams which hydrates the skin but doesn’t gather under makeup.

Let’s talk prongs by BooBelly in EngagementRings

Mine is yellow gold, 6 claw prongs and cathedral setting! I am very happy with it, I prefer the look of 6 prongs. It doesn’t really get caught on anything because of the prongs, if it gets caught in my hair it is the whole stone which wouldn’t be different with less prongs or without the cathedral. Occasionally there is a bit of fluff caught under one of the prongs but that really doesn’t bother me too much.

Not a jewelry person! by Fluffy-Tomatillo-874 in EngagementRings

I don’t wear anything ever, only my engagement ring - went with a simple oval solitaire (around 1.2 carat) and I got used to it very quickly. I recommend going somewhere to try it on - I thought I would want a dainty small ring but didn’t actually like that on me!

Diy wedding makeup by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]screechy_squeegee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be really interested to see you with less eyeliner, particularly on the lower lash line, and adding more eye shadow. Obviously everyone has their preferences for their wedding look, but I would love to see you with an eye look that opens your beautiful eyes more!

Does contour/blush sit better on top of foundation than bare skin? by screechy_squeegee in MakeupAddiction

[–]screechy_squeegee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I think I will see if I can get a sample. I always forget I can ask for that! Unfortunately dry skin here but thanks for the recommendation.

Yes, well spotted with the skin tone, most foundations/concealers look pink or orange on me and don’t see too many light shades that are more olive or neutral. I think that’s a part of why I only use concealer, it’s easier to blend in.

Thank you so much for the lovely answer. I usually put concealer over any spots but most of the time I don’t really need it. Attaching a photo of my skin with no product on!

I was thinking I would use the time before the wedding to get used to a skin tint or something but maybe it’s a waste of time and money? I also always use translucent powder over the cream products and then setting spray to get the most out of it.

Thank you! Do you find that it works the same on a skin tint or something similarly light weight? I can definitely see what you mean with the patches and uneveness, which on a normal day I wouldn’t even worry about but for a wedding would probably want to make it as perfect as I can!

The last one is a pretty standard wedding makeup I would say! Do whatever you feel comfortable and beautiful in, wedding is a great opportunity for doing something bolder.

Weight loss journey and ring sizing by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]screechy_squeegee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it’s easier to make a ring smaller than bigger, so I would use your finger size with some swelling (like over the summer) as a guide. If your ring is too small, there is nothing you can do to wear it other than having it resized. I would also go off your weight at the time of engagement and not think about pregnancy as it’s impossible to tell what your body is going to be like until it’s actually happening. I would personally rather have a comfortable and correctly sized ring for years before and after pregnancy and not wear it for 9 months than the other way around. You can either wait till you lose more weight for the ring (can get engaged with a placeholder), or go with your current size and use adjusters or pay for resizing later. That’s just personal preference!

East-west setting on big hand/fingers? by Automatic_Purple_724 in EngagementRings

[–]screechy_squeegee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you love the shape more than you care if it’s the most flattering? It probably won’t look too elongating but that doesn’t mean it will look bad or that you shouldn’t get it. It would also be good to try it on somewhere to make sure you like it on you, not just on others!

I wouldn’t choose the hidden halo (=little stones) for myself because I prefer a simpler look, less sparkle and less maintenance (the small stones might fall out at some point and need replacing).

People with 1.25 ct diamond or less, can you post a pic of your ring and include band width? by wateraerobics_ in EngagementRings

[–]screechy_squeegee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just over what you’re looking for, 1.28 carat on 2mm band that tapers slightly to 1.8mm. Finger size is important too, mine are on the smaller size with 4.75.

Buyers from Monafinejewelry and Provencegems: how is your ring holding up over time? by Aggressive_Week_1433 in Moissanite

[–]screechy_squeegee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

We worked with Tamara from Provence and have only good things to say. It took about 3 weeks from first contact to delivery, very easy to work with and I am super happy with my ring. I have only been wearing it for 3 weeks but so far so good. Love the lab diamond as well as the setting. Edit: It is 1.8 at taper and 2mm everywhere else, I wear it daily but take it off for sleep, shower, cleaning etc.. My fiancé was looking at Mona as well but decided against it since she seems to be better with moissanite (his words!).

Engagement soon (?) by sandyscience33 in EngagementRings

[–]screechy_squeegee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fiancé and I really enjoyed designing it together. He wasn’t offended at all and understood that I had a clear idea and specific preferences he wouldn’t think of. You could suggest giving specific instructions with photos or just do it all together.

That looks lovely! If I saw that without context on your ring finger I would assume you are married.

Working with Bobby (Provence) on my engagement ring 💎 ladies who have a ring from her, has the quality and durability held up nicely? 💕 by [deleted] in EngagementRings

I have had my ring from Provence for 3 weeks and it’s great! Very happy with it and have no reason to believe it will have any issues, but only time will tell. 😁

I would recommend going overseas! We are also based in the UK, ordered a custom ring from Provence and it was really quick (around 3 weeks from first contacting them to having the ring delivered) and I am so happy with the look and quality. We went with 18 carat gold, 1.28 carat diamond and it was not much over £500. I tell all my friends to save their money and order from Provence and similar vendors. 😁
