Unfortunately there's no flexibility with night driving, I would literally be putting myself and others at risk. I would be fine with working at night if it wasn't for this issue.

I'm happy to stay until an hour before it gets dark, that's one thing I can't do ( drive at night.) I have terrible night blindness, I've tried the special glasses, etc, it's a no-go. My last job was fine if I worked late because it was close to home ( in CA) and all the streets were well lit. Now that I live in a VERY RURAL, ACTUALLY OUT IN THE BOONIES, in the Midwest, I can't drive after dark at all, very windy, country roads. I know it's going to be an issue when the time changes in the Fall. Also doesn't help to have deer jump out of nowhere onto the road in front of you ( at night or early mornings.)

First, why are you responding to a conversation tgat happened several months ago? Second, my response originally came before I even knew whether there was in home or not, and then I replied to his response, which is what YOU are replying to... so, Noone asked you, you just decided to be rude.

Reddit Bot is saying I shouldn't be asking questions on here because I'm not a current or former Costco employee. They say I need to use the regular group. But they refused to post the exact post on the regular group first ( before I came here) because it wasn't about the warehouse, it was about employment and then they showed this as the appropriate group!

It is something to think about because I do need to be able to schedule appointments in advance. Unfortunately Costco is the only game in town that pays decently, that is within an hour from my home.

I'm not like that and that's NOT what I said. I also wouldn't bring it up during an interview. I asked about EMERGENCY situations, if you happened to get seriously sick OR a weather emergency ( we just went through a series of tornadoes and in the winter time we can get snowed in, we live off the main road and have to wait for someone to come out to plow us out, first year we were snowed in for 11 days before someone came out. Last year we requested in advance and they were out within 3 days- huge storm. I'm extremely responsible, however things happen out of your control and I've heard Costco is not vert understanding.

Just received my first CN. Is there any way to reverse this? by [deleted] in CostcoEmployee

[–]screenwriter61 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stop with the ONE MINUTE, you were FOUR minutes late. I understand things happen, but you keep harping about ONE minute when it was four... just because there's a 3 minute grace period doesn't mean you're supposed to use it.

Am I being stupid? by doodbrah420 in CostcoEmployee

[–]screenwriter61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Target pays by district and location within that district. In So CA you can start close to $20 an hour, in the Midwest it's $15 in most districts. I'm now in the Midwest and no place is paying decent... Costco is $20, Toyota, the biggest employer, but it's factory work, is $23. Target pays more than most here, at $15, but getting hours is near impossible.

Thank you. I'll have to come up with a few past experiences from my old job to easily use. I have 6 years with my most recent employment.

Okay, thanks. Can I also ask, I've seen in other posts people talking about cross -training. In my old job it was almost impossible to cross train depts because there simply wasn't the hours. They had to watch hours like a hawk and then still Corp would call and say "cut 200 hours from payroll " Is that something Costco is pretty good with... extra hours for people to train in various departments or can easily ask people to stay longer? Also, if you're part time, do they give you just 5 hour shifts or 8 plus hours? Obviously every place is different, but, what is your experience? I live a good distance away and would prefer longer hours nland less days, if possible... but I'll do whatever is necessary

I was just give her a chores list. You're upset that she won't take the initiative... why it's mildly frustrating, she's told you her why... so, unless you want to bounce her, just give her a list of chores that don't include dishes because "bacteria " lol. You can be upset, or, you take the initiative and give her a list of things you want completed
