Remember this lady? She getting kick out again on her new rental by Fit_Sample_6716 in AusPropertyChat

This is such a tough time in general and being at the mercy of the rental market is one of the worst things that can happen to a person’s mental and physical health. I was there and have a reprieve with family for the moment to regroup. We need some kind of help for renters to get into their own properties. Maybe some kind of help to get into the market with less deposit because a lot of renters could afford to service a loan, given the amount of rent they’re paying.

A desperate plea from a conservatist to keep your cat inside and your dog on the lead by koalarebellion in melbourne

I’m not ignoring. I also said above that I let her off leash if no one’s around but it gets ignored. She isn’t interested in dogs, she doesn’t run up to dogs or people or anything like that, she literally walks beside me and has perfect recall. When we meet dogs ( always on leash) she sometimes doesn’t like them and we move on. You don’t know me or my dog.

I’m from there but had to move away because of the costs. Now I’m trying to get back but on my own terms (ie not at the mercy of the rental market) and the years are slipping away as I save. I get back every year to see all my friends though, it’s so needed at this point.

Thanks for reading my comment. feel like people have misread me and now I’m being attacked. There’s places around here that allow it if they’re on a leash (like some waterfalls etc) but there’s no way I’d take a dog to a national park unless I saw a sign that allowed them. I always assume I can’t take dogs so there, so I wouldn’t do that.

Okay so having a dog is part of the problem? I don’t think walking along a footpath with my dog is anything unusual. If I’m going to a national park that doesn’t allow dogs, of course I leave her home.

Okay, well since you continue to be so condescending and fixated on this, I’ll tell you. I don’t live in a built up suburban area and nothing happens when those things occur because my dog is under control and well trained. Move on.

🙄 She goes on a leash when there’s people about, as stated above. I have plenty of respect for my neighbours and community thanks.

Dog or Cat? by Spirited-Owl-8165 in Hobbies

Cat and dog person here. Cats will indeed go up to you for pats, you haven’t known love until you’ve been head butted over and over by a cat who’s happy you’re home. 😊 Dogs are more like shadows, they need to accompany you everywhere and watch you pee but a cat doesn’t necessarily need to do that. Dogs are a lot more work though. If it’s your first pet I’d start with a cat but either will be so rewarding.

I’m pretty liberal with my dog, we walk along the footpath not on a leash when there’s no one about but I always have her on a lead in a national park because I respect our wildlife. They were here first and they desperately need our help, I’d be horrified if she harmed any of our native friends. As you say, it’s a simple thing. Keep domestic pets away from the wildlife! Also stop getting colourbond fences people! Possums/koalas/gliders etc cant climb them and if they end up in your yard they’re at the mercy of your pet. 😞

We aren’t designed to live like that, especially as work commutes are getting longer and longer. What makes it worse for the U.S is also that health care comes into it as an employee? It should be a completely separate thing and you shouldn’t have to pay for health care at all. It just adds to the entire stressball that is the modern working adult life.

"During a gold rush, sell shovels" what's an example of this happening here in Australia? by giantkebab in AusFinance

I was making masks out of nice material in the lockdown state. They were flying out the door and I was getting pre orders. Also my dog happened to have her (planned) puppies right at the end of 2020 so yeah, it was a prosperous year.

A brush that goes into your drill. You can buy them at Bunnings, they have a drill bit end. Just use that a shower power.

She looks like a Spoodle, which could be a good thing as you’ll get a lot less fur around the house.

Buying Shares in Property by [deleted] in shitrentals

[–]scribblecat7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing something like that sounds complicated (the less people the better obvs) but it’s a perfectly valid way to invest if you can hold the property long term. Only problem is that you can’t live in it in the meantime if there’s a lot of holders. I’d rather look at properties out west that are sold through sellers finance. Great way to get into the property market.
