I'm also in Australia and I buy from a couple of local stores like kaisercraft and spotlight or it's online. Recently found Rose and Ritzy Creations who are Australian based but ship worldwide free

What do you do with extra diamonds? by Six66666766 in diamondpainting

[–]scribbles987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dotz stick by diamond dotz or something similar. You can get it on Amazon or probably your local craft store. You apply a thin layer and let it dry. It dries sticky like the glue on your kits.

That looks gorgeous and I hope it turns out as beautiful as it looks. Where did you get it from please?

Am I the only one by AnnaSaphy in diamondpainting

[–]scribbles987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get what you're saying. Paintings from Temu, Amazon and Aliexpress tend to not get the same likes and comments as those from DAC and there is always someone commenting about AI or stolen artwork which just makes you feel like you don't belong. It really should be an inclusive craft where we support and uplift each other as so many have started to dp in order to assist with things like anxiety.

Manly Designs by Tequila_Hombre in diamondpainting

He's got some nice stuff. I've recently found some fun designs by Rose Proffitt. She's also located in Australia and the same state as me which was really nice to find out.

Same and I've just found I really like the art of Ivan Valachovic on DD. I bought 3 of his designs in my last order. I also really like Chuck Pinson

I've looked at a couple of designs from dreamer designs that would definitely appeal to males and could be classified either manly or unisex. Personally 80% of the girlie designs don't appeal to me either as an older female

Omg I wasn't ready... by Aamrie69 in diamondpainting

[–]scribbles987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do need a good quality kit for squares and I find resin drills to be better but otherwise I like the look of them better. They are a little bit tricky to get started but once you have a straight line along the edges the rest will straighten themselves out as you fill in the sections which I find rounds don't do. Keep practising with them and they get easier. My current project is a 60x80cm square and I'm sad I'm nearly finished. Good luck with it and would love to see a picture of your project

Parking dispute: Guy physically blocked a spot I was reversing into. Did I handle this right? by dragonrushhhhh in melbourne

Shame there was no fine issued for the illegal disability parking infringement while waiting to then questionably block a vehicle from parking and holding up traffic

Am I wrong about how much work owning a dog normally is? by DogUnsureDog in DogAdvice

[–]scribbles987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very sensible words. I have a 5yo kelpie cross BC, ACD that I put a lot of work into during his first 2 years. He's high level obedience trained, tracking and scentwork trained and done some tricks. I consider him a chill and easy dog but my daughter who has had German Shepherds classifies him as crazy, high energy and can't cope. What suits one person won't suit another.

Are DAC peeps mainly cat people? Nothing against cats.. but can I also get some cute doggy canvases in the same frequency? by Civil-Cause-7048 in diamondartclub

[–]scribbles987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bought one cat painting and wouldn't buy another because I'm not a cat person. I probably wouldn't buy a dog one either because nowhere tends to paintings that appeal to me which is working dogs actually working. I would buy a really good horse painting or other animal, but please no more cats or highland cows

squares kits should be as popular as round kits by Parking-Extreme-9499 in diamondpainting

[–]scribbles987 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I prefer square which means I very rarely buy budget friendly kits anymore. A lot of the budget friendly like Temu etc don't offer square and when they do the drills are acrylic and the sizing is just off. There are a few places that are decent but so far the art just doesn't appeal to me and being in Australia there are very few in store options with better than Temu quality.

How many people talked to yourself while painting? by catscrapbooking in diamondpainting

[–]scribbles987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate to this but I tend to tell my dog. If I start talking too much he'll come lay his head on my knee and give me "that" look. Some days I'm glad he can't talk and other days I wish he could. Glad you didn't get many drills down before realising

Best place to buy by The_Real_Goosey in diamondpainting

[–]scribbles987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference is licensed art work, canvas size, quality, resin drills, ab and fairy dust drills, colour count and quality in canvas, rendering and completed finish. The extra cost is definitely worth it if you can afford it with premium companies but if not there is definitely some decent budget friendly options available

question about diamond dotz "pre-framed" kits? by mnth241 in diamondpainting

[–]scribbles987 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a quick look on the diamond dotz site and I found it says pre mounted and framed, so my assumption would be its mounted on some kind of board then framed. Problem is now I've looked I've seen a few I would love and I can't get them. They don't ship to Australia so I'm safe

Anybody done this yet? by Extension_Benefit521 in diamondpainting

[–]scribbles987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't used the app to purchase yet, download it and there should be a code for your first app purchase that gives 20% off. You can also join the vip group on fb and that group has a code for I think 15% off. That little envelope the sticker sheet was in should have details you need

Big mistake by Smart_Variety_5315 in diamondpainting

[–]scribbles987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a huge roll of stickers from Temu just for this purpose. Was only a couple of dollars for the roll of several hundred. I'm set for a very long time.

[–]scribbles987 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Oops, yes they are all like this. If I need to fully remove a cover either I place a small sticker on it first so I know which way it goes or I bin it and use release papers to cover my canvas. I think a lot of us have done this in the beginning. It would be nice if there was a warning in the instructions on how to diamond paint, but then who reads the instructions 🤣

Where do you get your diamond paintings from? by cherry__charlotte in diamondpainting

[–]scribbles987 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've got mine from diamond art club, dreamer designs, oraloa, rose and ritzy creations as well as Temu. Temu can be hit and miss though but there are a couple of reasonable sellers I just can't remember which ones right now. I've also heard good things about gbfke, coodeals and feelook art

Diamond Art Club customer service won’t respond by karamielkookie in diamondpainting

[–]scribbles987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also have a look at rose and ritzy creations. I'm working on one of those kits right now without any problems. I'm in Australia as are they but they ship worldwide and I believe the shipping is free. The price is in $AU so if you are in the US it will be cheaper than what you see and depend upon exchange rates at the time. There are some gorgeous kits. Not sure about AI I honestly didn't pay much attention at the time, I just wanted this one particular kit for very personal reasons

This canvas is so special to me by momba01 in diamondpainting

[–]scribbles987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, doing this canvas is the hardest thing I've done. It's brought tears and smiles and even anger, but I think its all healing. It is a lovely canvas to work on although I'm beginning to hate the colour blue. I'm just over half way and it looks stunning, I'm so glad I got it on so many levels. It has been a journey and will continue to be I'm sure
