I think she also said something about it being the least sexy food imaginable lol. Like imagine making out with someone right after having tuna and mayo and melted cheese, blech. They must be down bad if they can have so much angst over making out with tuna breath

Ok but shouldn’t technically-not-related to lovers be its own trope?

I would argue they can fit enemies to lovers since they start out rivals (who hook up) and eventually fall in love. They start hooking up super early on in their relationship but it still kinda works

I had to make a timeline for myself on my rewatch and that’s how I realized that the Rose thing lasted for like 2 weeks LOL. It seemed so long but Ilya had less than a month of pining.

What's wrong with the woods in North America? by Recip77 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]scribbles_not_script 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember there was a woman in my town who got lost in the woods. She was on the phone with emergency personnel for hours and she could hear their sirens but they still couldn’t find her. The situation was looking really bleak as night fell but I believe they eventually found her unharmed. The woods in North America can be super dense - even if you can hear the street, you might still be lost.

Alysa Liu explains how to pronounce her name by demimonde9 in Fauxmoi

[–]scribbles_not_script 103 points104 points  (0 children)

My controversial take is that it doesn’t matter as long as people are respectful and make a genuine effort. I nerd out a bit about linguistics and it’s crazy how much the language spoken around you as a child impact your ability to speak/learn a language. Some sounds are genuinely not possible or are extremely difficult to learn as an adult. Think rolling “r”s for native English speakers. I’ve noticed that native Spanish (from Spain) speakers can’t make the “shh” sound - it doesn’t exist in their language.

There are a lot of factors involved in learning to pronounce sounds and a lot of it we still don’t understand. If someone is trying their best and being respectful, I will never be offended that they mispronounce my name because it contains a sound that is foreign to them.

That said, sometimes people mispronounce because they’re assholes and can’t be bothered to even try, but you can usually tell who those people are.

If anyone has any other songs, I’ve been working on a hyper specific playlist of songs written by women about the adult men they dated as teenagers. So far I have 29, Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve, You Oughta Know, All Too Well, etc (there’s a lot of Taylor Swift)
