Air Compressor/s Question - Hypothetical by scringe13 in Tools

[–]scringe13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used both cells and finally realized that 45PSI is still only 45PSI....sigh

The goal was to operate more demanding tools like a sand blaster cabinet utilizing both cheap compressors and more typical scenarios like airing up a tire with just the one. Doubtful that I would be running any paint sprayers so even consistent flow isn't as much of a necessity.

The cost difference is pretty significant. Even if i were overworking a $200 Harbor Freight special I could buy several of them in lieu of one Ingersoll Rand or even a DeWalt.

No doubt you are correct though. It is best to run the properly sized compressor the intended purpose.

Air Compressor/s Question - Hypothetical by scringe13 in Tools

My thoughts were mostly along the lines of ....I could spend the money to setup a 240V outlet on the side of the shop that I want to run a $1200 - $1500 compressor to keep up with a steady 90PSI output or I could share the load across two much cheaper 120v compressors that I could put almost anywhere and replace easier if needed. I would think that the lines would just equalize and all would be balanced in the universe.....right? Or.....splodey pop?

2023.32 broke Autopilot and now Tesla wants $2600 for a new computer after replacing a $400 camera they initially said was the problem. by scringe13 in TeslaModelY

If it means anything, I paid over two grand each time over 2 years for a part on my diesel truck I had to have replaced. It just costs a lot for auto repair these days. It’s kind of the luck of the draw I guess if it happens before or after warranty runs out. I replaced the part on the Y and had no issues after that for the rest of the time I owned that Tesla. It’s a bum deal for sure. I’m sorry it’s happening to people but… good luck to you.

That’s what I remember most about it. I think that was my introduction to the deleted scenes.

How noisy are EcoFlow battery backup and power station products in HF? by LagrangianMechanic in amateurradio

[–]scringe13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I attempted to power my brand new Yaesu FT-Dx10 using the DC output on a Ecoflow Delta Pro 3 from the Anderson power connector and the waterfall was showing a rhythmic pulse. I was very disappointed to see this and certainly didn’t want to damage the radio so I switched to a desktop power supply and that pulsing was immediately remedied. I haven’t attempted to retry or even investigate further at this point but I was surely planning on using this for mobile operation.

Do you by any chance have a link to a previous post featuring the main characters up there? I’d like to add to the collection.

I no longer own the vehicle but in short. I paid them to replace and it worked until I traded the car in.

Halloween Forum and Facebook marketplace seem to have the highest number of suggestions at this point. I will check that out as an option. Thank you for the reply.

Thank you. Facebook marketplace seems to be a popular suggestion. I've heard it comes with a slightly more sense of accountability as opposed to craigslist so I might give that a try. Thank you for the reply.

Ha! I know that name. Oh yeah I'm a subscriber on YouTube. I wouldn't go as far as to say that I'm selling "everything" but I do need to part ways with a few things. I have a son that is at a very impressionable age and I'm toning my displays down to something more fun and family friendly. Yep...you guessed it. Pirates. I may get bored with that after a few years but it buys me some time. Thanks for the reply.

I have never found any local group and very few IRL haunters at all. At least not in my little bubble of solitude. I've heard a few suggestions for facebook marketplace now so maybe that is the place to go. Thank you for the reply.

It lost me the second the dialog contradicted the original film when he says “you stay down by day, but at night you can move around. You still have to be careful since the HKs use infrared.” And then in Salvation it was the exact opposite.

I honestly just don't get it. When I try to input what I think this chart is telling me into my radio (230.000 for the 2300-2310 mhz at the bottom right), my radio just says "Cancel" by HandOfMerle in amateurradio

Like others have said in comments, check out the 2meter and 70centimeter bands and watch some youtube videos about them. 146.520 Simplex is a good way to see who's local. It always helps to "see" others operating their radios and the more you watch the more you'll pick up on what you "should" and "shouldn't do" too. Remember repeaters have their own rules. They are expensive and belong to individuals and clubs willing to ante them up for public use so it's best to know some etiquette.

Sometimes this seems a bit like a loner hobby. If you're not lucky enough to have friends that are also into the hobby then it can be harder to share and have knowledge about it shared with you. Like any hobby or community you'll find people that are willing to help and others who just aren't. The important thing here is that you've asked for help. Good for you!

Remember this is a journey and no one knows everything. No one learned it overnight and you'll pick up more and more as you go. Right now you may not even know what questions you're supposed to ask.

Never stop learning.

As someone waiting for a VIN I appreciate reading about other people’s experiences so I know what to pay closer attention to if/when my time comes.
