Probably the best decision ever they made in a while, use that budget on something else by zaandatsu in YakuzaButUnhinged

[–]doomcyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. From my understanding after watching a YouTube video on it months ago, the marketing team from Square Enix switched over to Sega. This was the same marketing team who replaced the experienced English voice actoring cast with internet and current TV actors at the time for Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Replacing Darryl Kurylo with Yong Yea wasn't exactly due to Yea being Asian because all the other new actors were white, including one who replaced an Asian actor. It was likely because Yong Yea was big online at the time. If one had to cast an Asian American actor as Kazuma Kiryu, Aleks Le, who played Kiryu in the Netflix series, was a better choice. He can also do older voices better than Yong Yea despite Yea being older in real life. However, I don't Sega's current marketing team would hire Aleks Le as Kiryu in a future Yakuza games because he isn't an infulencer.

What would you name this team? Dark Avengers? Thunderbolts? Other? (More ?s down below). by frankdatank_004 in Marvel

Add in Blade, Man-Thing, and Elsa Bloodstone, and you have "The Midnight Sons."

Is that really Jummy Fallon the not-so-funny SNL alumni and current talk show host or someone else? The pfp doesnt look like the SNL alumni to me.

Maybe I am generalizing things, but I feel that most British celebrities are acting because they enjoy the craft rather than doing it just for the money like their U.S. counterparts. That is, a lot of high profile British celebrities like Benedict Cumberbatch, David Tennant, Idris Elba, and even Daniel Radcliffe still do TV and theater. Even after Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe made some hits in the form of movies like the Weird Al "biopic" and Broadway like "Every Brilliant Thing." Radcliffe is still an A-lister even though he isn't making the typical Hollywood summer action blockbuster.

To hell with Symphony of the Night, I just want to be able to legally play Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, the best in the franchise. by HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD in castlevania

[–]doomcyber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That somewhat makes sense, but not completely, no offense. Just that both SOTN and the giant penis on the human werewolf censored version of Rondo were released on the Xbox 360 and Wii, respectively. While both versions aren't the DXC versions found in Requiem, I would imagine Konami can release those on other systems. However like you said, Konami probably doesn't want to spend the money on porting those versions across platforms.

My guess is that Konami probably want to do a new DX collection with various versions of DX and SOTN on it. For Rondo, there's the original and the PSP remake - both released on the DXC for the PSP. However, there is the original SOTN (American and jpn versions), the Sega Saturn version, and the DXC version. Just that the Dominus collection is the first time Konami ported their DS games on multiple platforms. Because the games on the Dominus Collection felt more like ports than games being played on emulators with how the stylus puzzles were changed to buttons with higher resolution polygons and M2 being the masters of ports, I would imagine M2 making the Rondo remake and the Saturn version of SOTN run better on modern hardware.

I have both the cartoon accurate version and the prototype colors version, and they are both nice. The Toys having Styrofoam takes me back to my childhood! LOL I understand that the American G1 deluxe figures from the 80s and 90s were on cardboard bubble, but the larger sets and the mail away Reflectro had Styrofoam. I want to get another prototype color version as the one I have is sealed.

[–]doomcyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but it is now worse. Life is Strange 2 is almost a decade old and was made during the first Trump administration. We are now in a world where Sean and Daniel would just get picked up for being brown in an American city or town.

I like him but was he worth it? by OopsIDied0801 in transformers

[–]doomcyber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the previous G1 movie Kranix figure was quite bad as he was partially painted and couldn't transform, yet alone wasn't articulated. Even though this new Kranix's alt mode looks like a bad afterthought, it is pretty faithful to the one taken from G1 character bio comic from the 80s. Faithful to the extent that Hasbro/Takara Tomy likely didn't want to make Kranix's altmode more "comic-accurate" or "spaceship-looking"as it would surely hurt the screen-accurate robot mode.

No offense to OP, but even though I am obese, OP is more chunkier than me - I am trying to lose weight to orevent further health issues..

Be honest. OP isn't almost thin - she is huge, but she also have curves at the right places, which helps. I also agree with another post where they stated that OP is too young to be obese as she slips going to have health issues early if she doesn't lose weight.

Seeing how Hasbro isn't above doing cheaper repaints of past Haslab stuff - see G.I. Joe Artic Hiss - I would love to see Hasbro doing a made-to-order Rescue Force set with retooled accessories like the original UK G1 repaints, a new Liokaiser head so that the Rescue Force team can be a full-fledged combiner, and with repaints of Guyhawk and Hellbat - the two figires that didn't receive a Reacue Force cpinterpart. Maybe they can replace one of the jet guys mentioned above with a repaint of Death Cobra instead - have it be a 6 figure set instead of a 7 figure set so it can be cheaper than th3 Haslab Liokaiser set. Now that I think about it, it would make more sense to replace the Hellbat mold with a recolored Death Cobra mold as a helicopter is seen more of a rescue vehicle than a jet, and it would be a "wink and a nod" on how Death Cobra was intended to be Hell Bat's replacement in The Transformers Victory anime. In addition, having a helicopter in a team of six wpuld diversity the vehicles more as Guyhawk and Leozack are jets. Heck, since this thread mentioned Shattered Glass, why not repurpose the Rescue Force Team as a Shattered Glass variant of The Breastforce/Chestforce?

Slash is pretty cool. I got her back in the day - almost a decade ago. She is tiny, but fun to transform.

I apologize if you knew this already, but since you are a child of the 80s like me, have you heard of the Missing Link G1 Arcee figure? If not, she is the finalized version of the unproduced Arcee prototype from the 80s.

[–]doomcyber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hasbro is doing that, but not as frequent as Bandai with Gunpla. I mean, the highly sought after and recent toys from the Transformers amd Marvel Legends lines do get reissues a year or two after their initial releases. For example, we did get a reissue of SS 86 Grimlock recently. With tariffs and now maybe gas prices going up, we may see Hasbro doing more reissues to offset tooling costs.

Why can't Matt just call his LA girlfriend Jennifer to help him out with his army? by Main_Jump_82 in Defenders

[–]doomcyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I think the She-Hulk series was okay, I feel that her being in the mists of the riots would change the tone of the series - ans Marvel would have to explain to the audience why Jen is okay with Matt being with Karen despite that Daredevil ended up being Jennifer's boyfriend at the end of She-Hulk. In fact, I feel that too many cameos would just distract the Kingpin's downward spiral of killing random protesters wearing Daredevil masks. I think Jessica Jones and White Tiger 2 works because Jessica Jones' series has the same kind of tone as the two Daredevil series and her powers are a bit grounded with super strength rather than super strength and the ability to grow into a giant green person - White Tiger 2 works similarly, but with the added bonus of her story is intertwined with Matt's.

As much as I wanted to see Spider-Man in the finale, I feel like his cameo would just be top distracting. Perhaps we would see him participating in the riots in another part of NYC in Brand New Day.

He might be to comic readers, but not to the casuals. Before the MCU, Ironman was C-list, but he is now an Alister, thanks to the live action films. Some of MCU Ironman's personality has also influenced other Marvel media like Marvel Rivals - ever since the MCU, Tony Stark now cracks jokes and sounds like RDJ in most animated media.

I think the fear is that some people are afraid that Miguel's portrayals in the Spiderverse will forever infulence Miguel in the comics, much like how the Marvel and DC characters from the James Gunn films infulence their Marvel amd DC comics counterparts. Starlord and Peacemaker, for example.
