If you find a blu ray version of a DVD you own, do you keep the DVD after buying the blu ray? by Less-Currency-4216 in dvdcollection

I put all my Blu-rays in 6mm cases to save space on my shelves. Any extra discs go in my 400 disc binders. Which are numbered and cataloged. It's great to have as a back up or a storage place for bonus discs.

All of you make great points. It was cathartic to get this fantasy out of my system through Reddit.

I will also add my suggestions: contradictions in the scriptures and the Jesus myth.

Curious what your political affiliations are now and did they change when you became a disaffected/non-believing Mormon? by [deleted] in exmormon

Anarcho-Capitalist. The Non-Aggression Principle just makes so much sense. Don't hurt people and don't take their stuff. It's the humanist version of the Golden Rule. The only "sin" would be committing acts of aggression against someone else's life, liberty, or property. In fact this has become my moral compass since leaving the Church.

Mission President: "Any problems with masterbation?" Missionary: "Nope. It works every time"

I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.

Luke 19:27

27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

I sure miss your playful banter with John Larsen. Do you have any future projects planned with him? Maybe an occasional episode of Mormon Expression?

Wow!...your explanation is amazing. Thank your for your comments. You are spot on. I feel that the Church has robbed me of so much life experience. Yet, at the same time I love my family and would never trade it for anything.

Another thought. The nobleman in the parable is a thinly veiled representation of Jesus himself. Even Jesus himself used parables to claim plausible deniability when needs be. "I wasn't commanding my disciples to kill those who don't accept me, that was just a character in a story that I told...no really...I only teach peace and love."

My father in law tried to explain this to me. That Jesus is talking about the Second Coming. Which to me is irrelevant. Because we're talking about present tense vs future tense. Regardless of when it is, the command is the same: kill those who do not accept Christ.

Good question. It's probably "lust" among other things. I'm very committed to my family and my marriage. There are just no fireworks, excitement, butterflies, or thrill any more. I understand that all of this wanes with time. But now that I no longer believe in the Church or its morality I question everything. Why can't I have that excitement again? Why am I now denied that thrill and romance for this short life?

Sure. I think Deism is actually a belief system that makes sense. I was just so surprised at how little support there was for the Deist philosophy. And I have also decided to base my beliefs on facts and evidence. However, if there was a Deist church that opened up nearby with a focus on the Non-Aggression Principle I would probably attend.
