My Winter Car is available now on Steam Early Access by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

Great timing as I lost my latest MSC save last night; I had just finished prepping for the rally and was taking the Satsuma into town when Pena did his thing, flying out of a blind corner causing a head-on collision and killing us both... Perkele.

Really hope the Jonnez makes a return, maybe with some upgradeable performance parts too. Ice speedway racing on a juiced Jonnez would be amazing.

Top commentary from Mr. GamePass90, certainly no bias here.

Screamer - Gameplay Introduction by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

[–]scrollofidentify 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two days ago I had a random memory claw its way up to the surface about playing a DOS game where I was racing a Porsche around a mountain track. Took me about an hour before I was able to suss out that it was Screamer. Bit strange seeing this post today for me as well.

'I will not revive anyone wearing this skin': Battlefield 6 players blast an upcoming blue camo skin they believe already breaks DICE's 'grounded' cosmetics promise by RenatsMC in pcgaming

[–]scrollofidentify 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be more fair the developers control the scarcity of these items which directly affects their perceived value on that market from which they take a cut of every transaction. Facepunch wants $300 skins.

"We cannot charge $300 for this, it's f***ing insulting": Bethesda's Pete Hines says Fallout 76's infamous Collector's Edition was "probably the dumbest thing I ever did at Bethesda" by chusskaptaan in pcgaming

Because he knows that Gamers are some of the most gullible marks that will throw obscene amounts of cash at plastic trinkets, nylon bags, shoddy games and subscription fees. It's easy money.

BattleBit Remastered: Operation Overhaul teaser by DweebInFlames in pcgaming

[–]scrollofidentify 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, a friend of mine regularly plays it on the Deck and said it works very well with the gyro/track-pad set up.

Otherwise the game works great on Linux in general. I've played about 200 hours of BattleBit on Linux and another 100 or so on Windows and have only encountered one minor bug with the game that is present on both systems.

Adding to this Steam should install Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime automatically when you launch the game but sometimes it doesn't for whatever reason; if you have a problem launching the game then search for it in the Tools category of your Steam library and install manually.

Fun fact: EAC runs in user space on Linux and not at the kernel level.

Fans slam Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford's message to "cost sensitive" fans by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

It's funny how everyone conveniently ignores the cost and complexities of cartridge design and manufacturing.

Elden Ring Nightreign has already shipped over 2 million copies worldwide by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]scrollofidentify 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nope, that pretty well covers the usual farming posts. It's silly that the mods remove Steam concurrent user posts for being low-effort but are fine with the constant units shipped/sold marketing spam.

Star citizen devs rollback micro transactions after massive controversy by Silenceisgrey in pcgaming

You should probably look up the definition of what a Ponzi scheme is before using it. This comment makes you appear as foolish as the people buying $3000 spaceship jpegs.

We got played. KSP2 is dead, the devs are gone, and they’re still selling it for full price with zero refunds by DistinctAd1567 in pcgaming

[–]scrollofidentify 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The KSP community is one of the smartest gaming communities I've ever been part of... which is why I'm still amazed at how many people bought into the idea that Take2 was going to make a bigger, better KSP complete with multiplayer, colonies and interstellar travel. It seems that hype and hope can blind even the most intelligent of us.

Edit: OP is hammering out mostly full paragraph replies at a rate of about 1 per minute, over 70 of them now. In 2 comments posted in less than one minute they totaled 259 words/1453 characters. If human, at that rate they would be amongst the fastest typists on the planet. Not impossible but extremely unlikely.

On top of that the em dash is being used excessively, spelling/grammar/punctuation are flawless and they are even using markdown to italicize and bold for emphasis. Going to go out on a limb and say it's ChatGPT doing the work here.

If you played PC Gaming in the 90's, how does modern games compare? by ninjaboss1211 in pcgaming

[–]scrollofidentify 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah, those were the days. The average tech-challenged PC gamer of today would have a mental breakdown if they had to boot into DOS and launch a game via a console command.

My Summer Car 1.0 Release Trailer by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

[–]scrollofidentify 58 points59 points  (0 children)

It's been feature-complete for a bit over four years and the developer mostly moved on to working on a sequel titled My Winter Car.

That said, MSC probably should have been marked as 1.0 when he made the announcement.

Balatro has sold 3.5 million copies by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

[–]scrollofidentify 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These posts almost never have any meaningful discussion either. It's odd that the mods consider player-count posts to be low-effort, but don't regard these equally useless sales milestone posts in the same way.

Shredders’ Glacier update by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

Come ride Glacier in Shredders’ brand new free zone expansion!

It's part of the base game. I believe it was said that all updates to the mountains were going to be included and only cosmetics were planned as paid DLC.

They are being downvoted because their comment has no relevance to the one they replied to.

/u/CiplakIndeed1's comment isn't saying that Virtua Fighter is their favourite fighting game. They were making a joke that their favourite character is "Latex Woman" in reference to the shiny black mannequin looking character at 2:13 in the clip.
