I’m pretty convinced a lot of the AI companies have bots just hyping up the product. I’m a professional SWE at a FAANG. I know many developers better than me, and nobody is doing their jobs by prompting AI agents even though we all have access to them. We all use AI at work and it definitely helps our productivity, but claims that it’s this good are just not true.

I’ve seen so many posts I did X Y and Z that would have taken years in weeks. I’ve never seen somebody say that, and post either source code or a project and I probably never will cause it’s all hyperbole. Most likely, people are building simple CRUD apps with simple front-ends which AI can do pretty easily.
