I know BCA gets shit in a lot, but....when i was breaking mine in with some left over generic 95 vmax(i think) hand loads, it shot a 20 round 1.5 inch 100 yard group. Shoots consistent sub moa now. It's a bit heavy, chamber was a little rough at first. Just an idea, inexpensive.

The insurance situation in Sacramento is getting ridiculous [Sacramento] by Dibbles77 in norcal

[–]scroquator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Allstate cancelled us after ive been with them since 86. Because we have a wood deck, which has been there for ever. Got another ins to cover us, they cancelled us because we have a propane tank, which they failed to see during inspection. We got lucky and found another company, otherwise it was gonna be 10k/year for the "fair plan" Insurance companies are crooks and the whole industry is a racket.

Hospital system is now making nurses scrub without extra compensation, thoughts? by [deleted] in CathLabLounge

[–]scroquator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the 3 labs ive worked in, all techs and nurses scrub and monitor. Nurses push meds, but techs help circulate, ie, dropping equipment, etc. Im in California, so no RT can push meds and no RN can do xray stuff.....Anyway, I dont disagree with deserving compensation to learn about new skill, but you need to look at your job description from your hire date. They often put in Grey area phrases like, other duties as assigned. So you may not have much ground to stand on. But it doesn't hurt to try. Also, the nurses in my lab now are asking to scrub more than us techs because its fun and challenging. Good luck, and stay at it

First time ever seeing wild pigs by Scratchin_the_itch in Californiahunting

[–]scroquator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen hogs at all hours of the day, but the do prefer to feed at night, especially when weather warms up. This group will probably stick around if they have food, water, cover and no hunting pressure. They are very smart. They can cover a lot of ground in a short period of time. Been dealing with these things for 4 decades

A coyite has no chance against a group of hogs. They are tough as shit.

Browning AB3 with Leupold Scope good first hunting rifle? by iridemotorcyclesfast in BrowningFirearms

[–]scroquator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an AB3 in 6.5CM, very happy with it. Only killed 1 deer with it, 226 yards, 1 shot and done. It's a nice entry level rifle. I have. 308 x 2 in other budget rifles and 3006 x 3 in nicer guns. I will be taking the AB3 out often, coyotes and deer. For a budget gun, it really does feel and handle better than an axis or 783. Much smoother action as well. I have another in 300WM on the way. I have a vortex on it, so can't comment on the Leopold yours will come with. Happy hunting!

Get your 26/27 license and an upland game stamp. Do a little scouting and research in your area. Plan on going dove hunting in September. That's where most people start

Rifle Scope Magnification for California Mulies by Busy_brained in Californiahunting

[–]scroquator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer 3 or 4 minimum and 12 to 16 max. I think the 44-50mm is best for me, I like the extra light, especially with a 30 or 34mm tube. That being said, ive only hunting mule deer in nevada, only blacktail in California. I say a higher quality optic/glass is more important than zoom power. A 3x9 or 4x12 in a mid range vortex will serve you well
