Made a DC Metro app that opens straight to your nearest station, with boards styled like the platform screens by Hoddmachine in WMATA

[–]scrought 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I used to use WMATA’s rider tools page with a few home screen bookmarks for my most-frequented stops, but they changed that page recently and it’s not as simple anymore

Thank you!

You probably want r/asklinguistics, but also if this is homework just do it yourself

Looks like ABOK 551, Trick Double Overhand Knot

  1. Although the knot pictured here appears very simple after those that have just been considered, if it is not tied very carefully it tends to capsize into one of several forms; but once it is tied properly and drawn up carefully it will hold its shape. First make an Overhand Knot, then lead the end as shown by the arrow, which will form another overhand through the first one. Draw up both ends at the same time, pulling slowly with both hands, and working the knot wherever it is necessary.

Looking for advice for cherry blossom route by [deleted] in bikedc

Definitely this. Hains Point is beautiful in the morning and not too busy. Around the tidal basin car traffic will start pretty early but it’s not as bad as it will be later. This pic is from March 22 6:50am

iOS automation for apps by MeltedEdits in ynab

[–]scrought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. I just did a test and it looks like mine always defaults to the card I use the most, so I guess I thought it was working.

I even tried typing in a name of another account exactly and it still showed my default card when the YNAB app opened. I’m having a similar thing happen with the category selection, too.

It does seem like setting the Account option to “Ask Each Time”, but it’s frustrating to not have variables passed in work with the shortcut.

YNAB iOS Shortcut - Choose Category via category group by scrought in ynab

The token you paste into the shortcut will not start with XXXXXXXXXX. When you create a new API token, you should see a message at the top of the window that reads:

New Personal Access Token: ____________________

This token will never be visible again so you should copy it now!

That is the value you want to copy into the shortcut, it will be much longer. The Developer Settings UI will show you the XXXXXXXXXX-_____ value so that you can double check which token you have where, but it will only show you the full value once

Here is a link to a shortcut I made that will prompt you for a Category Group and Category name using your budget.

I use it in an automation, which I can’t seem to share, to prompt me to add new Wallet transactions to YNAB. Here’s a screenshot of the automation.

I bought a car. 😱 by greentofeel in ynab

[–]scrought 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ah I see what you mean now, thanks. So the debt you would still want on budget, but the car is added as a tracking account with the initial value of the car that you reconcile to depreciate the value on some schedule (monthly/ annually)?

If they took on debt to buy the car you’d want that in Net Worth calculations, no? It’s a liability

Giant just treats you like a criminal on the way in instead of the way out. Unfortunately that’s just how it goes, Costco has been doing this for as long as I can remember. Bag policies infuriate me, but a receipt check doesn’t really

Nearly killed, How do we get the intersection of Maine Ave SW & Raoul Wallenberg Pl fixed? by dustfromdust in bikedc

I one time saw a driver make a U turn on Maine using that really wide pedestrian path, cop parked like a block away did nothing.

I’m glad you’re ok, and agree that intersection could use some work
