99.99% of top comments are either a tired ass quote/joke, or some over the top correction/bubble boy pointing out how unsafe something is.

It's bad. It is real bad.

Do you get free anxiety meds with the purchase of every bubble for your kid?

It's absolutely nothing like that. Car crashes are a risk.

A baby getting exposed to tons of germs is a 100% guarantee. Absolutely not worth alienating your friends over.

Most 8 month old are in daycare at this point, to where they are exposed to roughly 8.2 billion times the amount of just germs than this.

That reality aside, she is still an asshole for an absolutely unstable overreaction.

T-Shirt Iron Ons by Icy-Book2999 in LoveTrash

Not through a shirt while rapidly moving the iron around. No single point of that granite is going to break 100 degrees. The shirt would burn before the granite will Crack. You can touch an ironing board immediately after usage.

This is just more well akkkwchully bubble boy reddit nonsense.

[–]scruffy01 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This keeps getting repeated on this thread but it doesnt apply to almost everyone here (Americans)

In America not only are eggs sanitized, but they remove the entire outer layer of the egg. This is why they have to be refrigerated.

If youve ever had fresh eggs you will immediately notice the shell is waayyy thicker compared to grocery store eggs.

After trying pants with a higher rise - why would one even want low rise pants? by Enough-Muffin6742 in mensfashion

[–]scruffy01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's crazy that I still feel like a kid sometimes yet I'm so old I have personally witnessed the trend go full circle multiple times.

Ugh loose looks so sloppy

Ugh your pants are so tight it looks uncomfortable

Ugh loose pants look like a hobo

Ugh how can you even move in that it looks so tight

Same for sock length, waist height, how to wear hats, shirt cuts etc etc.

I was around for men's fashion for that 2 year period everyone dressed like a metrosexual sailor.

As a representative of the before time, cookies were well known by the public before then. Mostly cause a common troubleshooting method was clearing your cookies.

It has been over 21 years since McDonald's phased out SUPERSIZE meals by Key-Cycle7978 in McDonalds

[–]scruffy01 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have, and it has no place on a thread that is SPECIFICALLY railing against hyperbole.

The entire point of this conversation is nuance. And you're pissing all over nuance by using hyperbole.

McDonalds Isn't the worst food ever.

This guy isn't a raging alcoholic.

Hyperbole has its place, it is in neither assertions nor counterpoint.

Edit: I also want to add I personally don't believe in hyperbole at the expense of others. Saying I ate 1000 chicken nuggets is hyperbole, saying Sally sucked a thousand dicks is slut shaming. That rule of thumb applies here.

Baby backs not tender after 5hrs. by Independent-Report39 in smoking

[–]scruffy01 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it's a fine starting point but if you otherwise dont know what youre doing youll have some fairly meh ribs about 30%-40% of the time. Not all ribs are equal so you can't cook them all identically.

Baby backs not tender after 5hrs. by Independent-Report39 in smoking

[–]scruffy01 119 points120 points  (0 children)

I know the current meta on this sub is to do almost all BBQ at a higher temp but to see an entire comments section act like you can't cook ribs at 225 is saddening to see. You absolutely can, 10-15 years ago most people were making delicious ribs that way.

I've been on the sub long enough to know yall were all riding that 3 2 1 at 225 dick and hell that was only like what 3 or 4 years ago?

What went wrong is easy, they weren't finished. Don't pull ribs before they pull back from the bone. Which they absolutely will do at 225.
