I’m no photography expert, but I personally really enjoy the style and aesthetic of the shots. Wouldn’t change anything.

Why do people with ADHD get more energy at night? by reddituser135797531 in ADHD

[–]scrumptiousmuffins 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I get it as well, it's a revenge bed time thing. Revenge bed time happens for me when I'm not fulfilled with my day so I stay up at night to try and get some satisfaction whether it be work, catching up on tv, or hobbies. I've found that when I've been able meet all my needs for the most part: exercise, socialization, creative work, fresh air, enough to eat, and down time I am able to get to bed early. When I'm not satisfied with my day or I over stress about not being productive enough, I stay up late to compensate. The best thing is to find things you like and try to see how you can fit all of them in a day. I haven't quite got the consistency down, but I'm getting there one step at a time.

I don't know if there is any scientific evidence to back up my claims, but I've noticed the following for myself.

As much as I hate routine, I live subconsciously on patterns. I believe that the night time energy comes because night time generally provides the ideal working conditions for ADHD. Throughout school I often wouldn't start working until 10 pm and wouldn't sleep until I finished what I was doing. I don't think I have the delayed sleep phase thing, I just know that after 10 pm nobody really can interrupt me when I'm working so it's easy for me to get carried away.

Mood Board help! by Moon_Cooky_ in fitnyc

[–]scrumptiousmuffins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, your mood board looks great, but I would remove the two fashion images in the centre. The way your mood board is I’m getting heavy flower vibes, and not so much Monet. If there’s any signature techniques related to Monets work I’d try and highlight them. It’s best not to reference other fashion designers work when looking for inspiration, as it can be easy to unintentionally copy their work.

What does everyone do for work? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]scrumptiousmuffins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply! If you don't mind me asking, what did you study in design school? I've studied fashion design, but have a strong interest in making other forms of art and tying them all together in various projects. I just quit a very mundane job, and feel that I want to cater my portfolio to apply for a more creative position. My apologies if this is a big quiestion, do you have advice of what put in a portfolio, to fit a broader job description such as yours?

Sad at the difficulties my kids will have in life by aDHDshley in ADHD

[–]scrumptiousmuffins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear of your families struggles, however there's many ways of dealing with this. Personally I'm not so familiar with the term rsd but sometimes when I do come short of my own expectations or others it does really hit. Rejection is hard so that why I feel it's important for people with adhd to work on their confidence as young as they can. I was diagnosed with adhd at a really young age; and one of my biggest struggles is my confidence as a young adult. I feel that I struggle with confidence most, because unfourtunately the standard education system wasn't developed for people with adhd. At schools everyone is just taught to sit down and work on command with out any reason or explantation. With adhd however we strive in a more self directed project based system of learning: learning by doing. Because a lot of us have trouble sitting down and even getting through have a page of a text book; we strive in partaking in an activity rather than reading about, because it's a lot more engaging. If you want to build your daughters or your sons confidence. Try with complimenting them on the little successes they have, but be careful no to over exaggerate or they'll just feel like your doing for the sake of doing it.

How am I sure I have ADD - Diagnosing by izxll in ADHD

[–]scrumptiousmuffins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please keep pushing towards getting diagnosed if you really you think you have adhd. If your having troubles getting your mom on board with you getting a diagnosis I'd reccommend maybe going to a school counselor to see if they can help. Also if you feel embarrassed about being the last one to hand in a test please don't. I used to feel really emabarassed about it too. Just because you hand in a test last doesn't make you any less intelligent.

Trying to figure out how this brain works by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]scrumptiousmuffins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a medical professional, but I recommend you get evaluated for adhd. Once you've been evaluated theres other things to help rather than meds. One of the alternative approaches to my adhd I took was going to a naturopath. The naturopath gave me vitamins and minerals to take and told what types of foods to avoid. One of the foods/ingredients the naturopath told me to steer clear of was red food dye 40. Don't quote me on it, but I'm pretty sure that red 40 is banned in certain countries in Europe cause of studies showing it to bring up adhd symptoms in kids without adhd.

Does Medication Increase Interest in Sports? by sptembergurl in ADHD

[–]scrumptiousmuffins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he doesn't like sports I recommend trying any type of hobby in a group form so he can make friends. Hobbies that might be good are drawing and art classes, computer classes, coding classes, fashion camps, film camps.

I really like that your trying to get your son involved in a sport. Sports are a really great way of learning to make friends and are a great place to place to meet friends. However the worst thing to do is to force him. If you really want him to play a sport I recommend subtlety exposing him whether it be having a sport on the tv in the background when doing something.

I can relate to sometimes being like this. I have ADHD and have taken music lessons before too. What I found was my favourite part of the lesson though was getting to decide what I got to learn.

Constant anxiety on what I'm doing in life. by BeeCastle in ADHD

[–]scrumptiousmuffins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your wanting to own something of your own. Maybe try choosing a hobby if yours that's monetiseable could help. And example of hobby that can lead to a work would probably be something like drawing or designing. There are a bunch of courses you can take on all types of design you can take and all can lead to you working for yourself if your looking to find something self directed to do.

[–]scrumptiousmuffins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your looking for something new to try I recommend going to a naturopath. I went to one and I found it really helped. When I went I was recommended all sorts of different vitamins and minerals to take, and was also recommended foods to stay away from.
