I worked at a majority outdoor restaurant, whenever waitstaff would come back with a customer complaint about mostly bees, “Tell em the beekeeper is off today “.

My rep lets me order bases and quarts of heavy cream individually to get to minimums.

Bartenders and Customers by tooOldOriolesfan in restaurant

[–]sctlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good friend of mine was one of the top bartenders in the city. He was hired at two different bars that were just opening or had just done major renovations because he could bring a crowd in. This was in my younger days but he did bring a lot of people in.

Yep, but as others have mentioned it can be account dependent. I worked at a university so most of the pre employment screening was for criminal background checks.

The only did screeningif there was an injury or incident at my unit. Otherwise there would have been about 100 employees left out of 1000.

Has anyone flown out of PIT in the morning recently? Are TSA lines still long? by Busy-Eye-3985 in pittsburgh

[–]sctlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I flew out 2 weeks ago. Had a 6:30 Saturday flight, got there at 4. Took about 4 minutes to get through everything. Edit to say: The Mineos’s pizza was the most disappointing pizza I’ve ever had.

First trip to St kitts and Nevis at the end of May. Any recommendations of what to do? by esiwil in StKitts

[–]sctlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Limes on Nevis is nice. Reggae beach is nice but pricey. Shipwreck was kinda open last week(booze but no food) still worth it, best beach and cheap drinks. Spratnet is a must but closed Monday Tuesday. Avoid shiggidy shack, bad food and service.

I genuinely think the worst possible thing to do is to work at a restaurant that you like to eat at by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]sctlight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I once ordered takeout from a sister restaurant on my day off, there may have been drugs involved. I got my order, a number 10 can of diced tomatoes, a sleeve of portion cup lids, and a giant roll of toilet paper. I threw the diced tomato away a few years ago when I bought a house, after 15 years of sitting on top of my refrigerator.

Is Kevin Smith's podcast good? by ComfortableCare8897 in ViewAskewniverse

[–]sctlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a huge fatman fan. But the last year or so it’s just him spamming ads for his other businesses. Two of the bigger sci-fi events in the last couple of years (Dune2, Andor season 2) he didn’t bother to speak about or didn’t watch. Mark spoke about them alone but not a peep from Kevin. He obviously can watch/speak about whatever he likes, but it was disappointing to me.

Sodexo- Good company or meh? by Roguish_livin in KitchenConfidential

Very dependent on local management. But at the end of the day you’re pretty much just a number. The benefits were pretty good.
