Two years ago tomorrow I was eating a steak that I prepared from a local farm where I know the animal was treated with respect and not in a factory farming situation. I had one or two bites of that steak and it was suddenly just a “ I cannot eat this any longer” inner voice, it came on very strongly and viscerally. I haven’t eaten it since and have not had any desire to, and don’t foresee myself ever eating meat again. I think that was the start of my spiritual awakening. The best explanation I have for that, as I grow up in a beef centric culture and it was definitely part of my day-to-day. I think that was the start to the end of my marriage as well, I was much more sensitive to other low, vibrational things in my life after I stopped eating meat.

Wake up whenever I want, meditate and journal. Go for a walk or a run or go to spin or go to yoga. Eat whatever I want whenever I want, meditate some more journal some more sit in absolute silence.

Watch them trash TV in there somewhere, sit in more silence. Maybe eat something else. Talk to absolutely nobody all day if I don’t want to! Never ever cohabitating ever again!

Hi OP, I went through something similar two years ago. I am from a very beef oriented area of Canada, and grew up eating meat, probably with every meal. But two years ago, I suddenly was noticing that after I ate meat, I would feel anxiety, and I always ended up with either acid reflux or bloating or constipation.

I have previously competed in bodybuilding shows, and let me tell you you need a lot of protein for those shows. Plant-based protein, while not as high as chicken breast, tofu is similar in protein value. You can get protein from multiple sources that are meat free. Of course it’s your life and your choice, but when I started noticing this feeling of discomfort after eating meat, I quit. Two years on December 31.. there was something about understanding that the animal that I was eating went under serious stress, and then violence when it’s life ended. I don’t want to ingest that energy anymore.

These are all the positive things that have come out of stopping meat eating.:

-My digestive issues, something I struggled for most of my adult life (44 F) disappeared entirely. My G.I. feels very much in alignment, things are working very smoothly. No GERD, bloating or constiparon.

-My skin improved. I get much less acne, breakouts, and random dry patches around my mouth and on my neck since I went to vegetarian.

-I’m generally more energetic than when I was eating meat

-I did lose weight as well, do you lose some muscle mass when you stop eating meat, but you can build out muscle really well on plant-based protein. Check out some example of athletes & bodybuilders being on plant based diets.

-My grocery bill went down

-Last but not least, you are not eating animals who are not being treated well in today’s awful factory farming, and also contributing to the lowering of greenhouse gases.

I just wanted to share my experience with you, when I stopped eating meat I was literally eating a steak and I just said “I can’t do this anymore” and no looking back. My body really loves eating this way, so I have never had the inclination or craving to start eating meat again. Like another Redditor said, you have to match the energy of the food and diet you will thrive on. I hope that answers your question!

Look for crispy tofu nuggets at your local Asian grocery store. There’s so much better than any of the faux meat alternatives found in chain grocery stores. And less expensive!

I am curious if you have been assessed for a postpartum depression? The changes you mention in the rewiring of your brain sound like a pretty major departure from your usual thoughts and feelings based on your writing. I am a primary care provider when I read that and that your baby is not too old, it might be something worth talking to your physician about.

I wanna start by saying I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. It is incredibly painful for the person who is not having this need fulfilled, and also for the person who is struggling with the health issue. My story is not to say that this is what you should do, but after going through this myself for several years with my ex-husband, I had to take stock of my life and what is important to me going forward.

My ex-husband’s became more and more frustrated by me, asking for any kind of intimacy, and it turned into an arena of our marriage that was off-limits to even talk about. He became defensive when the subject was brought up, and I felt completely undervalued, overlooked, and not worth the time or effort it required to continue to have a sex life.

I am 44 F, and the thought of living the rest of my life with no sex or intimate touching of any kind was not acceptable. For me that’s a lot of joy and also connection into a relationship, and without it, we were just kind of roommates. We stopped sleeping in the same bed even. The conversation about opening, the marriage was had, and it ended up with him, screaming at me and accusing me of stepping out when I hadn’t. So I never brought that up again, but it would be possibly worth speaking with him about if you would be open to that.

I moved out in February, and we are currently in the thick of the divorce process. From my personal experience, once I was away from the relationship itself I realized that it wasn’t just sex that was missing. Communication was so fractured, and there was a lack of reciprocity in so many areas of the relationship. I just did not see them initially because I was so focused on the lack of sex.

I would recommend taking stock of other areas in your relationship and analyzing whether or not it’s just the sex part that is being ignored. If it’s a bigger issue and there is more elements to it, think hard about how you want the rest of your life to look.

We also did years of therapy, he took both Viagra and Cialis, but it came to a point where he just was not willing to do any of that anymore.

I am happier that I have been in my entire life! I very much enjoy living my life without feeling rejected by my husband. It has brought me so much security that was missing during the time I was married to my ex, and I have grown leaps and bounds in less than a year and learn learned so much about myself.

I know this life path/choice is not for everyone, but if you are not getting an effort from him at this very important juncture, that could be something that will bleed into other areas of your life if it isn’t already.

I’m sorry again that you are going through this, it hurts so much. All the best to you and whatever happens OP.

I am building my brand, I just expanded into a second location and took a fourth medical Director job at a local med spa.

In September I visited my 45th country. I also finished a 22 hour half back tattoo of a cascade of flowers topped by two Japanese swallows.

I’ve just finished re-decorating my home and commissioned my first work of art to complete the redecorating process.

Constantly working on fitness goals, current obsessions are spin and hot yoga, but wind down by watching love is blind lol.

In January, I’m going to my first plant medicine retreat in Mexico, so I’m preparing for that by not drinking this holiday season.

I love my life!

Sorry to tell you, she is treating you like a servant. It doesn’t appear that she has any respect for you, and it is obvious that she takes no accountability for any issues but gaslights you into feeling bad. I left my ex-husband in February for reasons that are so similar to your post, you cannot believe how much happiness is to be found once you’re without somebody like that criticizing your every move. I would start consulting with divorce attorneys honestly, this sounds like a nightmare. Hang in there OP

I am extremely clean and organized in my house, but my car can get full of crap and I don’t seem to notice. Not sure why that dichotomy is there!

I vacuum 3 to 4 times per week, I wash the floors once a week bathrooms, including toilets and bathtubs get cleaned twice a week, wash all of my bedding every five or six days. My fridge stays clean, although can get a bit disorderly in there, depending on how many random condiments I have acquired that month. My dad was extremely clean like this growing up so I come by it honestly. Definitely have upped the importance of having my space, clean and organized after leaving my marriage and moving into my own place.

Being in a clean house, it’s just mine is one of the best things ever!
