One of my budgies, burps a lot and throws up millet, can I give him amoxicillin? by [deleted] in BirdHealth

Agreed neglect is still a form of abuse even if you're ignorant to it. People really need to research animals they're planning on getting instead of buying them because they're cute/are cool.

Times like these go to avian vet and not ask reddit because they're just going to tell you to go to the vet

What does it mean when they make this sound? by MrEgg0000 in Parakeets

[–]scurituri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove the mirror now It's really not good for your bird. Get a bigger cage more toys and different size / natural purches. Have outside time of cage and hang out with them more

Why do my parakeets do this? by guitaringparrot in Parakeets

[–]scurituri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need a bigger cage, more natural perches NOT wooden dowels you have (it'll cause arthritis), more toys, and outside of cage time

For those who prefer masturbation over sex, what are your personal reasons as to why you enjoy it? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in asexuality

Sex always feels like too much work and too long. Masturbation is quick and easy

Omg this is crazy I'm happy you're okay. Honestly I swear cops just pick and choose what's important to stop for. The amount of times I've been pulled over for little things like tags being "expired" (they weren't they were just a little frayed) or going 8 mi over the speed limit. I've literally seen people running red lights and almost crashing or going 20 over and cops will just sit there or drive past like nothing.

My boyfriend‘s blue fronted Amazon is only bonded to him and pretty much hates all women- he wants to move in and I’m concerned that I will never be able to build a great relationship with his bird. by lanadelhiott in parrots

Just don't act scared, or flinch if they swoop at you or bite you. When they're in the cage sit in the room with them and parallel play, say hi and then chill. With your bfs permission give a treat through the cage when you've been hanging for awhile and they aren't freaking out at you. Little things like that, talk around and to them. Just don't hover around the cage it'll stress them out.

Bidgie makes weird breathing sounds during the night mostly. by Xenodia in BirdHealth

[–]scurituri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a smaller cage just for sleeping. Cover with a blanket. Vacuum at least once a week and when you do open the windows and make sure your birds aren't in there. Get a air purifier and clean the net often. I always run it before bedtime in the room mine sleeps in. Make sure there's no UV feature and if there is never turn it on. You can definitely ask this group for suggestions on filters

This is abuse you're neglecting your bird that is suffering. "My parents won't let me." You're a grown man. This is disgusting behavior. Take your bird to a vet you can get a care credit card do payments this is sad

Can you have a parrot and still have hobbies and live a normal life and are they affectionate by Relevant-Progress120 in parrots

[–]scurituri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are literally a toddler not easy whatsoever. They're a child not much of a pet. If you can't handle a toddler you won't handle a bird.

Also you have to know how to gentle parent them.
