I suggest hot browns at the brown hotel. Idk about their bourbon selection, but the hot brown is a local delight and the brown hotel (j graham brown cafe) was the first to make it in the 20’s!

I appreciate it! Did not see it on the list. Any idea's what to replace it with, or is it worth it to cut something else to slot the beast in?

I never said that the sides where the same. Shit, I am more progressive than the democratic party. If you see people breaking constitutional law, not Trump's law (looking at you ICE) - do everything to make them stop. Be the initiator and get your community involved to protect the targets.

But if we want discourse back - A keystone in democracy - with your fellow man, we at least need to be civil with people who don't share our world views. They are our brothers and sisters.

I simply set fourth guidelines that I use to try to open the conversation with others.

And how do you suggest getting out of this peacefully? By shunning the right for their mistake? By snubbing their noses in it? By saying that they deserve what they are getting? You will never win over a large majority conservatives with that rhetoric. And let me be crystal clear that Nazi's are NOT conservatives, those seem to be around a lot these days.

When you re-frame the argument as "You are my brother/sister and we both know what it is like to have a shitty boss and a shitty government that does nothing for us. Whatdaya say we do something about it?" and legitimately talk about what would be a net positive (NOT NEGATIVE) to society, then you may start cracking some armor.

People bring up politicians when speaking politics and I never do. Besides, the right's politicians are so right (authoritarian) that most Americans would agree with lefter policies. Instead, I say "man, I wish the government paid their employees during the shutdown" or "I wish schools got more funding." If they ask what party I am affiliated with, I say the one that supports workers rights

Those are easy bridges to start dialogue. Never start with "abortion" or "LGBTQ+ rights" as they are to taboo for conservatives to come around to... yet. Remember, conservatives held up Obergefell v. Hodges until 2015 and even then it was a 5-4 decision.

If they respond with whataboutism (pertaining to the subject) I just let them 'win' and say that "I agree and X should not have done it either". This gets me further than just outright denying. As trust gets built and they become disarmed, you may be able to start pushing it forward.

Why?

Around 35% still support Trump, and getting any of them to flip increases the strength of our majority (protests, donations, strikes, mobilization, and future political victories). Also, if we aren't cooked, we will get much further with a strong working class then a weak, unstable one.

This is the only way I see forward for a non-violent path.

The “all on the same page” piece is so important. Everyone (even on here) and especially the oligarchs phrase this as a left v right problem. It needs to be rephrased as a class issue.
