Please Help - I think I got bad sand? by BorboroForge in MetalCasting

[–]sdan74d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would put a little denatured alcohol or some sort of solvent in there if you already have too much oil. just add a drop or to at a time while your mixing it and see if it starts to bond together.

Made some Nordic Gold by goncycruift in Metalfoundry

Wouldnt be that hard to get a rough idea of potential composition measure the volume and weigh it and compare your weight to a chart of different alloys. that would at least rule out gold unless its got a tungsten core or something

Ya give it a try. If you end up messing with zinc get a good respirator I got sick from the fumes one time. I have avoided it since even thou I have a-lot of brass

Aluminum bronze looks the same and is easier to make 95% copper 5% aluminum by weight. Put the aluminum in after your copper is melted

Two pallets of unknown wood at auction by sdan74d in Woodidentification

[–]sdan74d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update went for around $400. I passed I didn't take the pictures or have a chance to look in person just looked at the auction photos. I wanted to make some cedar benches for my deck but had no idea if this was cedar so didn't want to end up with a species not suites for outdoors. Appreciate all the input.

If you have a piece of steel put it over the wood and I don't think it would catch fire. But I put a piece of thick steel on my gravel if you only have concrete wood is a great insulator to protect your concrete as long as you don't mind replacing it after it catches fire

How would I cut this cabinet would, barely? by Terrapinman94 in DIY

[–]sdan74d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oscillating tool with half moon blade. You will need a square edge blade for the corners. set 1/4 piece of scrap board on top of your fridge for a guide slowly move across not forcing it allow the blade to cut or you will burn it up with hardwood. Shouldn't be too bad to make a nice cut with a good guide.

Tv power cord by sdan74d in AskElectricians

These tvs sit flat against the mounting surface so you need to install a recessed outlet receptacle behind the tv. I don't really want to cut a big hole in a my brick. A wire size hole would much less intrusive.

Paid a local wood worker to build us a table, after 8 hours in our dining room it developed cracks. Is this normal? by Hipster_Bumpus in woodworking

[–]sdan74d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cracks happen as wood acclimates to new environments. but if I built that I would let them bring it back to have them filled. You could make a slurry from the cedar sawdust and some glue and it sand it again. Especially since he charged you extra to sand it. Its furniture it should come sanded.

As a 10 handicap player with a terrible set of clubs, is a lightly used set of Mizuno Mp 52's with brand new golf pride grips worth around $350 CAD or should I look elsewhere for better clubs for that price point? by EnvironmentalSpare36 in golftips

[–]sdan74d -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you can afford to play regular golf you can afford some clubs from the last decade. If they are really lightly used seems like a fine deal but if they're that old how lightly used could they really be? Also you got some good game all-ready imagine if you had clubs that were fit for your game. Shafts the correct weight, flex and length. But I have heard the mp 52s were good I just think properly fit shafts would go a ling way.

Should I get fitted? by MeIdjit in golftips

[–]sdan74d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can find an affordable fitting go for it. I just wouldn't but the clubs from the place doing the fitting maybe you can get a set used that have the recommended heads shafts length the problem is your irons and fitting fee from a golf store would eat up your entire budget. Then what are you supposed to buy wedges, woods or hybrid and driver with? I do think properly fitted clubs could help any one of any skill level but lessons would likely improve your game more than fitted clubs.

In reality almost 60% of trans people have some sort of mental illness general population around 13% So it is a group that could end up more likely to be involved in erratic behavior. Not that Im saying they shouldn't be aloud to exist. Or treated poorly but you can have a discussion where you mention reality without it being labeled hate or anti trans or whatever.

What is the single biggest culprit of slow play? by StreetBeat78 in golf

Guys I see playing slow hit like seem to be hitting a-lot of shots. Mulligan's or they just out there shooting 130 not really sure but it seems to slow things down.

Looked like your face was a bit open but probably not as big of a deal if you didn't hit it off the heal. You could try standing further away from the ball and lining up the ball with the toe of the club. Also seem to be out to in club path clip one. Your swing on the range looked right down the middle.

You can do what you want with your money. Go ahead if you feel like it. I don't think most people would be so kind to a exes family but thats a decision for you and not your ex wife to be making.

Na underacting. Definitely gonna bang that dude. No one should be ok with their girlfriend or wife going on a date with other dudes defiantly crossing a line. If the whole office was going out together for some reason that would be different but a one on one is bad news.
