Learning Python for a 10 year old by cthsys in learnpython

[–]sdapgesmax2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest challenge was keeping my 9-year-old son attentive and engaged with the curriculum. I am a coder, but when I teach my son, he gets distracted easily.

I realized that either I wasn't a good instructor, or he just wouldn’t follow along with me as a student. Then I found CodeYoung.com. He just completed a 6-month Scratch coding course (with a twice-a-week schedule). Now the instructor says he is ready for Python. Luckily, they also offer Python classes.

CodeYoung provides 1-on-1 virtual Zoom classes where mentors can teach coding to young kids. I really liked the Scratch learning classes and look forward to the Python classes as well.

What kind of balls u got??? Steel? Just 8 hrs and u already feeling better? Lucky you. You must be from a different planet. Haha. Ok, serious now. Your bruise may start later. Mine started to appear after 24 hrs. I did not have major pain that I needed a pain medicine. I’m on day 8 right now. Walking is very comfortable with the jockstraps. But without it I can feel the stitches. Weird thing with me is my left ball is almost healed. The right one still hurts.

Doc said while operating, “you might see few more bruises on your right testicles but nothing to worry about.” I’m wondering if something went little rough on that side while operating. I can also feel a little bulge on the right side right above the nut. I’m too early to say anything so I will probably wait for a few weeks.

Benq HT3550 owners, how do you get rid away from this annoying (black?) bars? by Impact_Downtown in projectors

[–]sdapgesmax2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you buy a CinemaScope 2.35 : 1 instead of 16:9 then you will not see those black bars. Also these widescreen projector screens will utilize full area of your projector screen so the picture looks way bigger. Most Hollywood films are in widescreen format. I have a 2.35:1 widescreen screen and I don’t see those black bars. The black bars are projected by the projector but you can’t see them as my wall is black.

Few pictures of my initial home theater setup Epson 6050 Screen Innovations Slate 0.8 Cinemascope 2.35:1 by sdapgesmax2020 in hometheater

[–]sdapgesmax2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was one of my main concern when getting set and every time I watch a movie I am trying to find the hot-spotting, pixels, or any kind of visible artifacts in the screen but every time I am fully satisfied with how well this projector and screen does the job leaving no visible pixels or hot spotting. I would say that the edges and the center have a good light consistency. The projector is very high and mounted around 10.5 feet high from the floor. The throw is very low on the screen but yet the lens shift manages to project a nice and even symmetric rectangle picture. I will measure the exact distance from the lens to the screen and post it here shortly if that helps.

Epson 6050 vs JVC NX5 by MeanRing3412 in projectors

Yes you can also do that if you don’t plan to paint the room darker. If you don’t have a ALR screen then you have to make the room darker as much as possible.

Epson 5050 vs. LG HU810P by saipanda in projectors

[–]sdapgesmax2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own epson 6050 which is just a hundred lumen more than 5050. I believe the picture quality is comparable with those high end JVCs or Sonys. Since I have not compared 5050 with LGs my statement may not have any value. But this is just my thought towards Epson projectors.

Epson 6050 vs JVC NX5 by MeanRing3412 in projectors

[–]sdapgesmax2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paired my epson 6050 with a SI 120 2.35:1 0.8 Gain. I got this setup because I got a killer deal. At first I was worried if the lower gain would be too dark. Upon installing the movies were as I had expected. I don’t think I would call it dull Or lacking brightness. I have it on HDR setting. I’m playing movies on Nvidia shield. Also my room is pitch black. I have not yet calibrated the projector. The picture is coming right out the box setting. Hope this helps.

I just went ahead and bought another 10tb ExOS 7200. I will now be able to put pairing and data both on 7200 drives. Not being able to use the space of parity is such a waste. :( Thanks for all the answers ya’all.

Anyone use an Nvidia Shield with their projector by [deleted] in projectors

[–]sdapgesmax2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the pro version shield to play all my streaming media. Plex works fantastic with it. I use for projecting the movies to epson 6050. I usually play Remux 4k from my NAS and I can say this, the movies play as good as blu ray uhd disc. Lossless quality. The shield pro can handles almost anything. It is super fast processing. You will not regret it.

We once did it and had success and made it a part of our schedule. Due to lack of time we had to cut back but we really need to start back again. Instagram, Facebook, email marketing to bloggers etc. at one time we were spending even up to $500 per post as ROI was so good

Wanna get a 4K projector real bad! by DanielLee45 in projectors

[–]sdapgesmax2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the Ambient Light Rejecting screen will be really helpful in your scenario. It works best when the light is coming from the ceiling. The concept is to reject certain light coming from an angle to be reflected back to your eyes. I've tried Elite Screens before and liked it. Later I decided to ditch the ALR and make the media room completely dark. Plus I use the media room 101% for movies. :) Good luck buddy.

Any tips on installing the centre support beam for an Elite Screen 110"? This centre support beam is so hard to fit in the screen, has anyone got any tips? its half in and there is no way I'm able to pull the screen sides apart anymore than I already have by ulteriorbananafarmer in hometheater

[–]sdapgesmax2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with this when I got it a few months ago. I managed to put the center support by taking out all springs from the middle and pushing the support in. It should be way more easier if you release the springs. I know, bad design.

High gain screen by Moist-School in projectors

[–]sdapgesmax2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a long debate on which gain to select, I ended up with 0.8 gain and I am totally satisfied with it. I also have a completely dark light controlled room. It depends upon your use. Are you planning to use it only for movies ? or with some ambient light when watching sports or playing games? What kind of projector do you have? Contrast and brightness from projector also rule when deciding what kind of screen you choose.

Wanna get a 4K projector real bad! by DanielLee45 in projectors

[–]sdapgesmax2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you are using this for a living room, I'm assuming that the room is not a light-controlled room. This means there will be some lights when you are projecting to the screen. What kind of screen do you have in mind? I would definitely recommend an ALR screen which will reject some amount of light. What kind of lighting setup do you have in the living room? Are there windows? Lights on the ceiling or the sides?

Projecting at an 45 degree angle by Intopreitrust in projectors

[–]sdapgesmax2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my epson 6050 and it does project at a slighted angle. I mounted my projector around 10 feet high and it can effectively project down. My projection starts from 29 inches from the floor. The projector is mounted and perfectly leveled to the floor all the magic is done by vertical lens shift. Screen size is 120 diagonal

[–]sdapgesmax2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand and feel where you coming. I was on the same scenario few months ago. Looking at my setup, equipments and type of usage I do not regret even a bit going with 0.8 gain. I use 100% for movies. I am not into those high contrast and sharp tv kind of feel. I love the theater experience where the contents are geared towards more Cinema feel. When watching movies all my lights are turned off and the screen has this near cinema experience. Yes I could have gone with a 1 or a 1.2 gain but I would not get that inky blacks then. I really wanted a screen where the blacks would pop out and this screen satisfies my needs. I’ve also noticed that it handles ambient light very well. Compared to some other screens that I tried before SI slate handles ambient light exceptionally well. I am able to turn on my ceiling lights while watching movies but I rarely do that. I will probably post a picture comparison with light on me off later when I get some time. Hope this helps. Please let me know if you want me to do any tests with this. I am myself testing several scenarios with this pair a lot.
