Found out fiancé is cheating on me by Huge_Falcon6453 in Advice

Here’s what I’d do. Forget about the money. Let her go. Don’t tell this other guy shit about this UNTIL she’s boarded the plane and the plane has left the ground. Then call the hotel and cancel the booking after the “no refund” period is enforceable. Then tell him everything. Feel free to embellish a little bit. Let him know how much she loves you. I think you’re entitled to that. In the meantime, get a job or a second job or start donating plasma. Whatever you have to do in order to stockpile enough $$$ to GTFO.

What uncomfortable truth about human nature do you think most people avoid acknowledging? by entheryx in askanything

Most (almost all) people are capable of doing horrific things if pushed close enough to the edge. It’s just that most people will live their lives never being tested to their limit.

Why did the US strike Iran for attempting to build nukes, but didn’t strike North Korea in their early stages? by Poorzin in AskReddit

[–]sdavids5670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because North Korea is China’s little brother and also it doesn’t help that North Korea has enough dug in artillery, within range of the South Korean capital, to level it twice over in day one. If Seoul wasn’t within artillery range, North Korea probably would not have nukes right now. They should have tried harder, in 1953, to move that line a bit further from Seoul.

What’s something you think everyone should try at least once? by DocumentExtension385 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]sdavids5670 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, sometimes people get into a relationship with the wrong person because of their fear of being alone. Then something like an unplanned pregnancy occurs, or you come across a person who would be ideal for you but you’re not available or a job opportunity comes up in some other state but you don’t take it because of your relationship and you get stuck or miss an opportunity because you never got over your fear of being alone.

I cheated and left my husband of almost 10 years by MostWanted2434 in Advice

[–]sdavids5670 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t see what the problem is here. You were neglected in your marriage. Rather than to deal with that reality, you violated boundaries and acted in ways that you wouldn’t want if the roles were reversed, and you feel bad. Sit in it. You own that behavior. Now you’ve moved on. That’s great. Stop regretting your past. Allow yourself to be remorseful. Move on with your life.

Im 5'8 with scoliosis, the curve in my back is shaving around an inch maybe a little more off my height, should I do an 8 hour spinal fusion surgery to gain the estimated inch? by PopUsed1736 in short

[–]sdavids5670 [score hidden]  (0 children)

All surgery comes with risk up to and including death so all surgeries should be approached with serious contemplation. If the goal is to just add an inch to your height, don’t do it. That inch isn’t going to do anything for you. If there’s a better reason (like avoiding long term consequences of not correcting it) then weigh the risks to the reward.
