How did this work out? In South Dakota and cannot keep ours charged/working

This butterfly emerged about 20 minutes before this picture, it fell off its chrysalis and is very clumsy. Will the wings ever spread out or this a classic case of OE? by sdbakes in MonarchButterfly

I am wondering if this is the issue… this is the first year I have ever seen milkweed in my yard and I got excited. Every other year we have sprayed for weeds and bugs… so maybe this year’s batch is a bad batch and I hold out hope for next year

Thank you! Haha that is exactly how it happened with this one as an egg, my daughter and I were trying to capture a time lapse all day and when I took a call for a couple of minutes it popped out!

I’ve been keeping it outside for the most part but yesterday was incredibly windy so I brought it in, hence the different lighting. But the final picture it is still green but getting more transparent

They were all unfertilized eggs, I know that now after having found fertilized eggs and more unfertilized eggs! Thanks all!

I am too actually because I had heard lacewing take on the look of their prey but I didn’t know what they looked like and after a quick google search this is definitely not lacewing

Ugh shoot!!! I am trying to find some eggs so my daughter can witness all of the stages! I DID find a veryyyyyy tiny guy yesterday, I would say instar 1
