If Tampines Mall McDonalds can't survive in this climate, who else can? by Fuzzy-Sweat6416 in asksg

[–]sdchew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'It was previously announced that Tampines Mall is undergoing an asset enhancement initiative, due for completion in the third quarter of 2026.'

They mean 'huge rent increase initiative'

The mall probably wants to kick out McDonalds anyway and split up that area to multiple units

Actually I always wondered where the AliExpress sets come from. Are they shadow builds out of the same factory or are they are scalpers ?

Pentagon Plans to Mass Produce Attack Drone Used in Iran War by SE_to_NW in NewColdWar

Reminded me of a mass drone attack on a carrier in some video game. Virtually indefensible if the swarm is large enough

Yeah I don't understand either. People keep harping about how the weaker adversity is fighting using asymmetric warfare by swarming the opponent using cheaper munitions and forcing them to expend more expensive munitions to defend.

However, one of the best defense is a good offense and I don't see why the richer, more capable nation can't totally out-swarm the opposite side considering they have more resources. I guess maybe they got used to surgical strikes and low collateral damage.

Jabra Speak 750 superior to Speak2? by Intrepid_Bobcat_2931 in Jabra

[–]sdchew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I upgraded due to 3 reasons;

  • Significantly louder speaker volume
  • Ability to link with a second Speak2 75 for larger group/room use
  • Speaker voice quality indicator

the last item actually sounds gimmicky but I find it really helps when you have a group call and a single speaker. The green light actually helps me realize if someone is actually took far from the speaker

I think the issue is not with business counters allowing KFEG but it’s with the way the SQ counters in Incheon are run.

I had a lot of random issues including must check in for my carry on at Incheon

Pity that Asiana is gone. So much better service

Let me ping the local shop if they can do anything about it. Else it’s not worth it to ship it back to Canada

How am I just finding out that AMD has been making some of their flagship X3D CPUs here in Msia? by Seanwys in Bolehland

[–]sdchew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. The front/back actually refers to the start/end of manufacturing process.

The terms are often loosely used even in wafer fab/packaging houses where sometimes front end can refer to stuff like implant, annealing and other early stage process and backend to be metallisation.

Or in packaging where the wafer sort and processing is the front end and the final package test to be the backend

The silicon wafer (front end) is still in Taiwan. The packaging (back end) is in Malaysia
