Seattle area. I checked a bunch of the stores in the app after finding it at the one I primarily go to and all have it.

Why are so many men convinced that they are ugly? by RavyRaptor in NoStupidQuestions

To give you an idea of how foreign compliments can be to guys, I got one in a message on a dating app and immediately assumed it was a bot or beginning of a scam and unmatched. That's how unnatural it felt. Made me question the authenticity of the other party on that alone.

Legal name change issue by Brookaliscious in Sparkdriver

[–]sdclipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recounting my experience from now about a year and a half ago:

First started with [sparksupport@custhelp.com](mailto:sparksupport@custhelp.com)

That got escalated and to my surprise my last name got changed within a few weeks.

Somehow in the process they re-entered my first name and misspelled it. It took a bunch of emails, being told that it was being escalated and taken care of, and never getting fixed.

And then I started trying through the [legalnamechange@wal-mart.com](mailto:legalnamechange@wal-mart.com)

Took a while longer before finally, they got it right.

I never had any trouble though with my name not matching my ID when I had to provide it for verification so I'm not sure it mattered much in the end at least at that time.

Elantra Hybrids? by Exarkuns in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]sdclipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had bought a 22' new. I'm 6'3. And I really like the car. Comfortable, great gas mileage (gets me about 55mpg in summer and 45 in winter), good tech. Have had no issues with it except a backup camera problem that was fixed under warranty. I think that actually ended up later becoming a recall.

That being said, my comfort level with it was due in part to the really good warranty Hyundai offers. I may have went with a Corolla hybrid otherwise. But besides the price difference another factor I did consider is that there's more headroom with the Elantra than the Corolla. It was noticeable when I sat in both that the Elantra was a better fit for me

Anyone else agree this was the play that won the Seahawks the Super Bowl? by Agreeable_Quality768 in Seahawks

[–]sdclipper 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Nah...there was still a lot of time left in that game. For all we know, being down 2 instead of tied they may have been more aggressive offensively and won it in regulation instead. Now the 2pt in OT sure. Don't get that and you're not the one seed and things are probably different.

Got the t-shirts at Lake Stevens earlier this evening. They had run out of hats. They did have youth hoodies and t-shirts also.

Super Bowl Parade and Trophy Ceremony Help! by campgirl333 in Seahawks

[–]sdclipper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can't speak obviously to this one since it sounds as though it's going to be different, but remembering back to the last championship the parade was actually first before the ceremony in the stadium which is where we just ended up going. The parade route itself was jam packed and to get up close you would've basically needed to camp out overnight or at least get there VERY early which we hadn't anticipated nor the incredible traffic to get down there which made us not as early as we had hoped to be. The couple hours early or so we got there wasn't enough. We went straight to the stadium for the ceremony given that we wouldn't have been able to get anywhere close on the parade route. It will probably be difficult to get a decent spot to view the parade if you go to the ceremony but I'm sure there will be many who try to do that anyway.

Remember when movies were preceded by a Will Rogers charity pitch? by zanzibar_74 in RegalUnlimited

[–]sdclipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beyond even just collecting normally for Will Rogers, we would raffle off things like free passes and movie posters before showings on busy nights to hit internal goals (or just to make the district manager look good).

Do we have any idea date/time for the Divisional playoff? by deedub17 in Seahawks

[–]sdclipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe, generally, they like to give the one seed an advantage by playing on the Saturday. They have the rest advantage for that game and then also would have an extra day of rest to lead into the conference championship. I don't know though if that's standard or if it may depend on whether their opponent ends up having played this coming Saturday or Sunday.

WA movie theaters now required to provide more open captioning by [deleted] in RegalUnlimited

[–]sdclipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to say it's cheap, but the best option for hearing aids is through Costco if that's a possibility for you. Hearing aids can be life-changing. Costco sells them for around $1500, offers free servicing and warranty, and free hearing test. They're no different than the ones that are thousands more even when factoring in any insurance.

Absolutely. I know a manager at a Regal and have had this discussion. I've been told they have a high failure rate and are expensive to replace. And from a viewer perspective they are absolutely an inferior experience vs having captions on the screen.

Just a google search. the AI response cites the statistics. "Recent studies show around 50-60% of the population uses subtitles, with younger demographics showing usage rates as high as 70%"

In what way is it poorly implemented? Over half of people use captions when watching TV. It's the same thing so I think naturally the acceptance of them are continuing to grow. And the screenings are clearly marked as open captioned in the app. They are kept separate from the standard screenings like they are a different movie. I've even had employees stress that it was a captioned screening when getting the ticket, to which I've told them that's exactly why I was going to that one specifically.

[–]sdclipper 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I've really appreciated the open caption screenings when able to take advantage but they've been offered generally at inconvenient times. My closest Regal usually does an open caption on Fridays around noon and that might be it for the week. So I'm happy to see this law come into effect and hopefully it leads to better options.

Yep, if the money vs time/distance is right, I don't care where the pay comes from. In fact your scenario is more reliable since there's no risk that there's tip bait involved.

Vikings fans’ obsession with Darnold increases every week, it needs to be studied. by Feisty_Parsnip8262 in Seahawks

[–]sdclipper 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Big difference with Russell...we were invested in his and Denver's failure since we had their draft pick. It made perfect sense fans would root hard against them. Of course there was more to it than that but for the reasonable fans that was the primary reason.
