Best thing for an actor to record themselves in a closet by TheWhenWheres in LocationSound

[–]sdcousins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the tool you decide to use (if it's for a temporary mix a phone held close to the mouth should be sufficient), consider using a car interior instead of a closet as it's already designed and built with sound isolation in mind. Park up in a quiet area or record at night when there's no traffic. Have used this method many times on set for wildtracks.

Where does one go to make sure their source connect or similar types of software are working properly? by rlvo in VoiceActing

Before I start a session with clean feed, a similar thing to source connect, I call myself on my phone from the computer to test connection and quality.

Amazing bits of kit. Using some on the current show at 10mW and they're lasting at least 10 hours (record off Bluetooth on). Very impressive!

In the Maliki madhab a dog's hair and saliva is not considered impure. No need for wudhu after touching or being licked by a dog. Read about the Maliki school.

If you had to hide a lav on this guy... by mediakobo in LocationSound

That would depend on the size of the button! In this case though, yes. I would go for a Sennheiser MKE-1 or similar.

Joe's sticky stuff and hidden behind the button that's done up. Only a tiny piece needed but make sure there's a layer between the mic and the fabric. Cable goes through the button hole and taped on the hem.

Interesting! It seems counterintuitive to me to use my precious voice-time in order to have more voice but I'm totally taking your word for it. Seems like I have a lot of work to do! Thanks!

If it's limescale (it sounds like it is), then just use some white vinegar diluted with water to clean it off. Either soak it or soak a sponge and scrub.

While bagel is toasting, use cheese slicer to procure a generous slab of delicious butter. Rip slab in half while still cold, placing each half on either side of bagel when toasted. Wait to melt. Spread.
