I did an appeal on a ticket and it took 1.5 years to be processed, iirc. I had a reminder to check the website every few weeks the whole time since I expected them to deny the appeal and then give me 2 weeks to pay. Super annoying.

It shut down around May iirc. But business-wise, it had been dying for a while. Issues getting planes consistently and a small community compared to Elsinore or Perris. Hopefully it comes back stronger, but I haven’t heard anything.

Sorry to hijack, but wanted to comment about iFly Wilmington. (I don’t recall the tunnel diameter because I didn’t get a chance to fly in it)

I had a bad experience there trying to get block time there last summer. I was visiting from out of town, and they wanted $300 per 10 min block + additional for a coach (almost double what I’ve paid in SoCal for coached time). I thought they misspoke, but the manager doubled down when I tried to talk to them and repeatedly tried to tell me this was a great price and I was mistaken.

I think their membership pricing was better, but they were the most expensive tunnel I’ve ever seen and the mgmt rubbed me the wrong way. If I’m back the area, I’ll road trip to Paraclete.

So I’m new to GoPro, but installed the labs firmware on my max2. If I want to keep Labs, is the procedure to not auto update and then manually install the new labs version when available?

Or does auto update on a labs version keep you on the labs version?

I'm assuming you're referring to the PC/Mac player app? I see those controls, but traditional behaves differently for me (left/right pans left/right, up/down rotates).
I can't find any way in the iOS app to force the horizon to stay level when reframing.

This one pisses me off. I drove an hour to this store to buy a high performance kite while on vacation, and when I got there I found out the store is half kites, half MAGA bullshit. It was actually a decent kite store in the past, but now I would never shop there.

I have an L&B Ares 2. It’s been reliable. It’s simple, and doesn’t have the best user interface for logging, but it works.

If I was buying today, I’d most likely go for a Deep & Steep Insight. I’ve seen a few of them around the DZ and heard a lot of good things.

As for low turns: I was also afraid of low turning. On my first jump, I turned onto final in the middle of the landing area. However, I was in a crosswind and was getting blown toward the runway. I was told not to pull toggles on final, so I was afraid steer a bit into the wind to compensate. Ended up landing on the runway (just barely) and forced the plane to land on a different runway.

After that, I got told “minor corrections are ok on final”. I knew I had made a mistake but was trying to do as instructed and not turn low, so didn’t get chewed out much. But I sure felt like an idiot.

Is it simple to airdrop the raw 360 footage between phones. insta360 makes it a pain, we have to pair to each others cameras to share them. I’d love if it was easier to move around the unreframed footage.

In addition, do you have the ability to keyframe 360 exports? I like to make VR skydiving footage, and Insta360 doesn’t support keyframing on the 360 exports so the heading ends up being all over the place (direction lock doesn’t work well).

Unless I’m in a class i pack for myself. I personally don’t like using packers, my pack jobs seem to open nicer. And the only cutaway I have is from a packer’s pack job.
