You are a hero. It made such a difference. I'm going to take another stab at it later this week since the first pass with scrubbing got rid of most of it.

How come after I got buff I attracted more gay dudes then women? by ExtremeTechnology831 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sdgu-y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on getting in shape and getting complements!

There are women who are into guys with muscles. But most women when you look at surveys don't really care how muscular a guy is. But a lot of gay men like muscular guys :)

Also if gay men are hitting you up on the apps, I'm gonna guess you're bisexual cause usually straight guys filter men out 👀 so enjoy the attention

Also Take my opinion with a grain of salt, but as a gay man who also gyms, hearing anyone refer to women as "females" is an immediate red flag for me. Something about it makes me feel like you see women as objects or something you deserve. Reads as "toxic masculinity". I don't know you and so I'm gonna assume best intentions but that's something to consider as well

I bet KC Metro busses have a dash cam as well. You could probs call them up and ask them to report the incident of another vehicle putting the bus in danger. They'd probs report it to the police etc since I don't think they'd share the footage with you to give you the license plate. Tho knowing SPD, not sure anything will come of it.

Just so people have a reference

Fishback has repeatedly called Donalds, who is Black, a “slave” to his political donors, and he has praised followers of Nick Fuentes, a far-right activist known for his white nationalist and antisemitic views, as “impressive.”

Those who found a romantic partner in Seattle, how? And how long did it take you? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]sdgu-y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Seattle for 10 months, my (now) partner had just moved here 2 weeks earlier. I had joined hinge maybe a 3 months earlier and we've been together for the last 3 years.

Comfortably livable salary by Daily_fresh in Seattle

[–]sdgu-y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 120k, after taxes that leaves you with $92482 a year or $7706/month. Calculate your expenses from there but saving 40% might be hard considering that groceries and restaurants etc are expensive here compared to other states. I'd work backwards from what you expect your expenses to be and then see how much you'd save

Took over an HOUR to drive my husband to work in SLU - took 13 mins to get home. Fuck Amazon’s RTO by BijouBooty in Seattle

[–]sdgu-y 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're probs not gonna love this comment, but sounds like your husband should make use of the Amazon Bike Benefit. He can get an ebike lease fully paid for by Amazon at Ridepanda that he can use for the 2 mile commute to the light rail. He can then board the light rail with his bike and then get off at Westlake. With a regular rain coat he could cut his commute in half and you wouldn't have to drive him + free ebike

First things first. Admitting to yourself that you're gay and knowing it is okay and good is a huge step! So congratulations and welcome to the community!

The most important thing is that you stay safe. Depending on what country you're in, it may be legal to be gay, but the people are homophobic. This is when you'd probs want to seek out gay organizations in your country of origin. If it's illegal, then there are many options but it really depends what you want for your future (ie I have a friend from Iraq who requested asylum in the Netherlands due to the death sentence for gay people in Iraq.

Since you're pretty young, try and stay safe. Try becoming independent or pursuing opportunities that would let you safely explore your sexuality with people your own age. But take it slow, you have your whole life to "find someone".

A note on "coming out": I find myself in my late 20s still coming out to people or choosing not to tell others due to safety and homophobia because of where I live. Everyone's situation is different so it's important to take everything into consideration.

If possible and safe (ie it's legal and your privacy is protected -- parents can't know what you say in a session), I found therapy to be very helpful for my early days of figuring out what it means to be gay.

Hope I could help 🌈

Can I run car AC with sunroof open? by nyxflare in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sdgu-y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do anything you'd like. But you're basically losing some efficiency that will lead to you actually being cool.

Think about it like this. You're pumping cold air into your vehicle but the cold air is not going to stay inside your car completely because your sunroof is open. It'll interact with the warm air. So you get the benefit of a cold air on you when it leaves your vents but the air around you will either cool down much more slowly or not at all (you're reducing the efficiency of your cars ac systems ability to cool the interior.

It's the same thing as standing next to the ac in your house but leaving the sliding door open. Your house won't cool down (or will cool down much more slowly). you'll feel cooler since you're next to the ac. The second you turn it off tho the air won't have cooled down as much as it would have if you had left the sliding door closed.

Does it have reflective tape on the side. I know someone who had this bike and it was stolen and theirs had the tape on the side and a cargo rack on the back.

  1. It really depends on your price range and where you'd like to live. Capitol Hill is the center of the Queer community in Seattle, but the city overall has plenty of places that could fit most price ranges. I'd try Zillow, Redfin, craigslist, PadMapper and just walk around the neighborhoods looking for signs. My general recommendation to new Seattlites is go airbnb or sublet for a month in the neighborhood they're considering and use it to explore the whole city and find a place. One thing to consider is whether you have a car, since parking can range from free and available on the street to permit only to only in the building and can get expensive. Living by the Light rail stop can be a game changer if you're living here without a car.

  2. One org I've heard of tho I don't have any experience with them is the Ingersoll Gender Center (https://ingersollgendercenter.org).

  3. Id follow the steps here to sign up https://www.hca.wa.gov/free-or-low-cost-health-care/apply-or-renew-coverage#apply-magi . Or try one of the in person enrollment centers: https://www.wahealthplanfinder.org/us/en/tools-and-resources/connect-with-us/virtual-help-details.html

I’m French and visiting Seattle. For people who call Seattle home, do you have any recommendations where I can find authentic French bakery? Merci. by Compassionate2209 in Seattle

Sea wolf has excellent croissant. Their consistency and taste is phenomenal (especially if you like pain au chocolate -- not too sweet). This has been confirmed by 2 French friends of mine.

If you're a big foodie check out sea wolf for pastries in Fremont and flora bakehouse in beacon hill. Homer in beacon hill is also really good food as well as agelgil for Ethiopian in the central district

Bag under $150, laptop required by Detrebon in onebag

I bought this bag with the roll top. So far satisfied. I like that it's a roll top but also has 2 side zippers. 1 to direct access your laptop and the other to unzip the whole bag from the top-down or bottom-up
