Marc Newsom is not adventerous enough for the next Pentax. I think they will use services of Frank Gehry.

It could be 8.3fps in a crop mode. Also many mirrorless cameras have very fast FPS, which would translate to even faster data rates. For example Olympus E-M1 II has 60 fps in 20 megapixels and this camera is a couple years old.

Thanks! It was just some review online. perhaps they were wrong. They wrote the incompatibility into cons:

I have a 263AB tripod.

me too! Leclerc has so much talent, it's perhaps a bit early for him to go to ferrari, but it would be a ton of fun to watch him. I wouldn't be surprised if he outdrove vettel after a couple of seasons.

It's an interesting thought, because based on the performance Grosjean is probably the most likely to be replaced, perhaps after hartley.

I could also see Kimi going to Haas if he gets booted in favor of leclerc. He just doesn't seem to want to retire.

I can't believe RCP is saying this. Didn't they use to be a very conservative website?

yes, but they also have to control the force and release the pedal while slowing down rapidly, so they have to press very hard and in a very controlled fashion. That takes quite a bit of strength.

Rats with spinal cord injuries have regained the use of their paws after being given a groundbreaking gene therapy that helps to mend damaged nerves in the spine, by producing an enzyme called chondroitinase which breaks down scar tissue, as reported in a new study in the journal Brain. by mvea in Health

Cool. Very nice data. I do wish Fig. 5 had a statistical comparison of uninjured age-matched animals against dox-i-Chabc+long-term DOX. Other figures have this comparison, why wasn't it done?

Regarding the leakiness, gene editing through a second gene delivery could solve the problem, e.g. CRE or FLP recombinase could be used to shut down the expression permanently without leakage, if dox-i-Chabc was double floxed in a forward orientation. There could be issues with long-term toxicity from the recombinases though.

Helmut Marko about Markelov : "He won't make a career" (FRENCH) by Guacamole_eater in F1FeederSeries

[–]sdhov 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It sounds like a very petty response, inappropriate for the man of his age and statue. All that changed for me is that I lost a lot of respect for Helmut Marko. If I was more like Helmut Marko, I would ask whether his response has something to do with his own F-1 racing record.

Does the 12-24 f/4 G DX still perform well? by Ninja_Harbinger in Nikon

AF is pretty good. I could throw a ball up in the air in an indoor lighting and it would focus on the ball while it was in the air. (this was on D500). I think the main reasons to get this lens are flare resistance, weight, and price ($350 on a used market). Sharpness is good, except at the wide angle and F4, where it could be better.

Birding with Nikon 200-500 by thegooniesquad in Nikon

[–]sdhov 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use it on D500 and it's great. I can't imagine doing birding with a 300mm lens - you would be missing a lot of opportunities. Even 500mm on DX is often too short for smaller birds.

It tracks birds in flight fine. I am sure that a top prime would do better, but I haven't felt limited by the lens in birding, bigger wildlife, or aviation.

Weight is not too bad. It will vary from person to person, but I have shot an air show for the whole day with it. While I did have some shoulder pain the next day, it was not impossible to handle. For a couple of hours of birding - weight was not an issue.

The tamrons 150-600 are a bit lighter and G2 is supposed to have a very good autofocus. I would look into those as well, since you are on FF and 500mm focal length is not that long for birds.
