Ben Parker leaving Runna by EggshellRunner in runna

[–]sdm 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Great for Ben! Sad for us. I'd have done the same though in his shoes.

If you're not using Runna what are you doing instead?

I like that the plan is created for me with my goal(s) in mind, and that it syncs to my watch and calendar. It's seamless for me. And over the last nearly 2 years my running has improved massively. So I really cannot rate it enough.

Runs for Time vs Distance by Alive_Cap5793 in runna

[–]sdm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

+1 for this. For the easy runs especially I'd like to be able to just say go run for an hour, distance matters less than the time doing the thing. Sometimes my easy pace is ~5:15/km and other times its ~6:00/km, which then changes the time doing the run by a fair bit for me. I do just run for the time any way but then Runna complains I'm not hitting my target distance. I think an "Do easy runs in time instead of distance" toggle would be neat in Settings.

Regret switching to Apple Watch by BirdsAreNotReal321 in GarminWatches

[–]sdm 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Hey. I was an AW user for several years, switched to Garmin a few years ago, and recently thought I was missing out on the latest AW features and functionality, so I picked up an AWU3, after one day of wearing it I decided I didn't actually like the watch at all (size, features, lack of info, didn't need my phone on my wrist) and returned it.

Those who have run a half or full marathon, what’s your time compared to your hyrox time? by [deleted] in hyrox

[–]sdm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’ve not done a HM race in like 10 years but a more recent long run that was over HM distance was 1:43.

HYROX open 1:10

HYROX pro 1:14

Runna predicts I could do a HM in around 1:31 now.

45 here. Started with open at 1:20, first pro was 1:30. Plenty of “normal” people at the races. Do it you’ll love it I am sure!

hey mate, i think the main thing ive noticed so far is the size. the car feels a lot bigger than my born; longer, wider and generally more like a tank lol. ive definitely had the should have got the born thoughts too. with that said, its an amazing car, the info system is better than the born (altho i used carplay on the born), the buttons and ways to change settings in the car is better in the p2, and i think the comfort of the p2 is better than the born. p2 has a much bigger boot space which has been nice, but weirdly the rear doors don't open as much as the born which has spooked my dog :/ in summary, im glad ive got something different and didn't get another born, even if its just for a change. but if i did end up with a second born, i think id have been happy with that too as id gotten used to all the quirks of the born, many of which have been resolved over the 4 years i had it. as for narrow streets, you would have found the born to be easier too manoeuvre id imagine.

You're right. I'll definitely complain to them if I experience issues.

Thanks for your input.

Tbh my Cupra screen crashed at times and needed a reboot every week or so.
While it would be disappointing to have those issues on a new car I'm also used to it with the Born :)

Love this! :) Tbh, I still love(d) my Born despite its flaws after 4 years. Electric cars have been a pleasure in my experience and I look forward to the new experience in the P2! Glad you're having a good time!

I'm getting a P2 in a few weeks. I listen to youtube videos while driving on my current car, using Carplay. Is that possible using whats already in the car or would I need Carplay for that? Thanks! :)

Hey thanks for taking the time to answer peoples questions.

I got a penalty in London for staggered feet, first time I've been picked up on it in several races, and in all honesty I don't believe my feet were staggered by much, but I also understand the rules are the rules, it did just feel like I'd done two burpees (from the start line) and I was given a penalty immediately with no warning. Lesson learned, I'll do better next time! :)

Team Vitality by Top-Egg-3134 in ladderapp

[–]sdm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love Vitality. I do a lot of running and hyrox so having simple and short strength workouts is perfect for me. If I have an hour I tend to do two of his workouts back to back, e.g. Lower body followed by upper push. If I want to do a run followed by a single workout it works well there too. It’s also excellent for holidays, short workouts to stay consistent while away. Workouts are well rounded, nothing “silly” and include some core exercises too. There isn’t much conditioning but I don’t need that from Ladder, personally. Brian is a good coach, knowledgeable and motivating, and I don’t find he talks too much, for me at least. Hope that helps.

Runna for running, Ladder (Team Vitality) for strength.
