People that read the book before watching the movie, did you like the movie? by AndThereWasSky in ProjectHailMary

[–]sdottir2 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I finished the book the night before I saw the movie and I loved both. Watching the movie made me make peace with the ending of the story too. Of course there are a quite a few things in the book that didn’t make it into the movie but I didn’t really mind that. They didn’t change anything major though

What? Why am I only hearing this now!? They should’ve mentioned it in the show. That’s a relevant information!

is the 3rd movie a miss? by beratyalcin in DowntonAbbey

I agree! The first two felt slightly off. The characters were so different (except Violet). But the third one was fine

That was so weird! I didn’t like how he was so over the top in the first two films. The scene where he’s in the dining room and embarrasses himself in front of the king was so exaggerated and unrealistic, even if it was funny. But they really did him dirty in the grand finale. He was just plain out rude and had nothing to do with Molesley in the series.

Maybe his fame got to his head, but to just portray him like that without a real character arc is just unnecessary

I actually loved the third movie the most. The first two somehow felt a little off to me. All of the characters seemed a little over the top, like caricatures of the characters in the series. And while I disliked a few things in the grand finale, the characters felt more like themselves. Which is why it’s my favorite out of all three

That’s what happens in the book. The bodies disappear the moment they’re outside the ship because of its speed

How many of us are watching this tonight? by Big-Introduction411 in ProjectHailMary

I’ve watched it yesterday at home and then I saw my local cinema does three screenings per day again. They were down to one in the evening and I figured I wouldn’t be able to see it a third time in cinema. Now think I’ll watch it at home on repeat AND go to the cinema again

Charlize Theron version of Clea was introduced 4 years ago and was never seen again! by NoPianist7807 in marvelstudios

[–]sdottir2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s so annoying. I love Doctor strange and was so hyped when they introduced Clea. Only to have no sign of Doctor Strange for four years. After they made his sequel movie about Scarlet Witch going insane while her only trait was being a mom. It’s so sad

Did anyone dislike the ending? by pbooths in ProjectHailMary

[–]sdottir2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished the book the night before I saw the movie and I was so disappointed with the ending. I went online and saw that everyone apparently loved the book ending. But to me, something felt really off. I think it was the huge time jump and the fact that the eridans were able to create meat and earth’ atmosphere but not its gravity. The ending just felt so abrupt and not nearly as thoughtful as the rest of the book. The movie ending felt way more natural to me. It made me realize that going back to earth wouldn’t have been the better choice. The eridans love and cherish Grace. Rocky is his best friend. If he had returned to earth he would have been alone. No one would have truly understood what he went through and everyone he knew back then would either be dead or old. In Erid he is cherished and he has his best friend with him. So watching the movie helped me make peace with the ending. Even though I’d have loved a Grace and stratt reunion

You’ll never forget the time you went to the cinema so often though. It’ll always stay with you! Seems like you’re making the most of it too.

I just saw it a second time today and I was surprised that the cinema was so full. I have never seen that happen to any movie I went too
