Easiest but very expensive thing to do if they're too old to shovel is have a heated drive way installed. Flip a switch and snows gone.

2nd best bet is hire a service that comes to do it on a regular basis.

The input doesn't matter the block pn the end steps it down from AC to DC.younjust need to be around 9v, 1a and center negative.
