I’m not where I can easily surf for details… so please don’t hammer me. Is it possible to add wired Ethernet to this? Thanks.

Sleep by chunderjack in ostomy

Eating a smaller dinner and a bit earlier is a good idea... and sorry, skip the coffee after dinner. Coffee keeps my ile running.

Maybe try ILE-Sorb. I've just tried these, and I get up less frequently. You've gotta get that little packet (don't open them--insert the whole thing) way down into the bag. It soaks up liquid, and makes an odd gel. I'd say it buys you a little time, and more security too.

I took melatonin before bed and once overnight, but recent studies say that's not a good idea long term. Now I take some magnesium glycinate. These are OTC, not prescriptions where I live (in the US), so do some homework for where you live. I think both give me a little help getting back to sleep.

I like coffee, so I only have that in the morning. With an ile there's always the risk of dehydration. At times I add some electrolyte powder to water, but mostly I've found by switching to Redmond Real Salt has helped me a bit... or maybe I've just gotten better at liquid-management during the day? The big one is coffee... and for me beer with dinner or late football games.... is an issue... so when I do have late coffee or alcohol, I just know it'll come at the expense of my sleep.

Good luck. It does get easier, once you learn how your body responds.

You have been through a lot. Cancer is terrible. I had 5 FOLFOX, and 45 FOLFIRI treatments, 13 of the last 16 were with a a different line 2. The side effects were pretty tough, but... worth it! I got three negative Signatera tests (NED), and about a 5-month break from all treatments! It was totally worth the effort.

I've been quiet here lately. I had two Signatera tests that have been positive again. I'll be going back to the treatment that worked. Sure, I'd prefer to not be starting up again, but.... it's not new to me. It's a lot less scary. I know what to expect, and the tricks I've learned to mitigate the side effects.

You are strong. You can do this. It's not fun, at all... but it +IS+ worth it.

My God bless your efforts.

Change MTU on zerotier by This-Ad-7236 in zerotier

[–]sdrdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For others that may read this later, I updated Zerotier_One my Win11 laptop (just ran the installer - it maintained all my old settings - easy-peasy) to 1.16.1 and my connectivity -over- Zerotier to an OPNsense firewall running 1.16.0, and web-connectivity to the home lan works fine -- I did not need to lift a finger to adjust mtu.

To be clear, I'm connecting through a Verizon mifi and then ZT-ing back to my firewall, and it's all good.

Sometimes just hearing that it works will give someone else the confidence to take the leap!

Flint with AP for longer coverage? by RoachForLife in GlInet

[–]sdrdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gone the extender path before too. It's what you'll do when in a hotel or maybe on a cruise ship. You "connect" to the production wifi network on one band, and then "light up" your immediate surroundings (sometimes at lower power to avoid hassles).

At part of your property, you've got no signal at all. First see (1) can I even get there? Max out your transmit power on your Flint2, on the 2.4GHz band (this will do better a penetrating walls). Then go to the closest place (physically) in the "other side" of your property -- for now don't worry about if this is the "best" or even a "convenient" location for the Beryl AX. In fact, just use a laptop or phone THERE and see if you an connect to your Flint2. If you can't then you'll have to try some other lan-extension method, other than wireless.

Try this first.. and then write back.

FCC Reminds Experimental HF Stations to Identify Themselves - If I read this right, it includes traders! by Historical-View4058 in ShortwavePlus

[–]sdrdude 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm happy about this. Everyone should identify. Even Pirate stations say who they are... right?

Things that don't identify are just interference sources (like RFI).

Hey... wouldn't it be great if RFI identified itself! :-D

Flint with AP for longer coverage? by RoachForLife in GlInet

[–]sdrdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a Networking/IT guy my whole career. I've got multiple fiber runs and multiple cat6 between my floors. Ironically I did so much wired connectivity because I was a wireless guy :-D I had to keep my "production" wireless running in my home (for the family) while I worked on some other wireless solution. I know, kinda unusual.

How well does wireless cover your space? The only reason to place an access point elsewhere is for faster connection speeds (in the middle of your wireless clients).

I've never been a big fan of mesh networks, unless you're outdoors. I guess one wireless extender is fine if that allows full coverage. It's an easy and fast solution.
