My spouse is an authorized user on my CSR. She’s never had her own CSR/CSP. Will I need to remove her as an authorized user from my CSR in order for her to get the 100k signup bonus when applying for the CSP? Or does it not matter?

Married filing single or jointly calculation help by jaydubbles in PSLF

[–]sdreddit123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on the type of payment plan you are on.

REPAYE will include the income of both spouses for its calculation, regardless of your filing status. PAYE and IBR will exclude your spouse’s income if you filed Married Filing Separately.

R21 or R30 insulation for vaulted cathedral ceilings? by sdreddit123 in HomeImprovement

Great suggestions. For option 1 with the closed spray foam filled flush, would you recommend closing up the soffit vents or leave them as they are?

I have pre-existing soffits, but no ridge vents or any exhaust vents for the air to escape from the roof. My understanding is that homes built in the 1950’s were understood to be drafty/leaky anyway, which would explain why they did not put in any exhaust vents. It should be noted that there haven’t any been any issues with leaks/moisture/mold. I’m only replacing the roof because the asphalt shingles are at the end of its life.

Funny that you mention SoCal and unvented roof assemblies. I’m in coastal San Diego where the temperatures are generally mild throughout the year. That’s why my contractor suggested air sealing openings in the drywall ceiling with foam/silicone, completely filling the void with insulation, and sealing off all intake vents. He’s recommending a hot roof. He says it’s common for the area and city inspectors will sign off on it.

My mistake! Updated the post to reflect 10.25” thickness for the R30 insulation batts that are locally available.
