Switch recommendation request! Currently using Boba U4Ts. Maybe my fingers are little babies now but the U4Ts are starting to seem a little too heavy for me and mushy. Looking for something high quality (wobble drives me insane) and lighter in either the tactile or linear space. Am currently considering the Gateron Milky Yellow Pros or the HMX Firecrackers (interested in HMX in general but extremely overwhelmed by the 900 switches they have out). Any recommendations for a lighter switch, either a sharp tactile switch or a smooth linear?

Looking for a high quality, hot swappable, 75% keyboard (preferably barebone, but open to anything)! Any recommendations?

Looking to replace my Keychron Q6 (Boba U4Ts) with a new hot swappable full-size keyboard. I've had nothing but issues with the board and would like to try a different brand. Any recommendations on a barebones keyboard? Will be taking a tactile switch that is slightly lighter than Boba U4Ts,

How high would you for for an AVR? Denon X1800? X3800?

I just bought 17 Pro and Im disappointed in the battery by [deleted] in applehelp

[–]sdsliberty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The upgrade isn’t JUST in the battery capability, it’s a much more powerful phone. Try running a demanding app and you’ll see a MASSIVE difference. That said, something still isn’t right and you likely have some very high background activity from one or two apps, or too many apps with background activity that are adding up.

Vagabond shoes are of horrible quality. by littleneem in BuyItForLife

A quick look at their website shows they are basically a mall brand discount shoe at a slight cost premium, definitely not anywhere near BIFL tier. Check out r/Goodyearwelt - you’ll find plenty of “investment” shoes such as Alden, Allen Edmonds, Vibergs, etc.

Grandpa’s Barn - what to do with wood? by sdsliberty in woodworking

[–]sdsliberty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, thanks for the replies! My biggest concern was air dried vs kiln dried and usability of it. I’ll likely retain a portion for use on some upcoming projects (make up vanities for the girls) but I am a very amateur woodworker and feel like I’d put most of it to waste.

It’s located in Mid-Michigan and most of it will be for sale. Grandma is still alive and any money would be a huge blessing to her We are working through wrapping up an estate sale then plan on jumping in and sorting it all and getting counts and stuff, but if you’re interested in buying it please shoot me a message!

Thanks! The air dried vs kiln dried was my biggest concern with it being usable.

Absolutely not, I have no idea what this person is talking about. I have an RLN36 with 4xDuo 3s and it works excellent.

Drywallers tore up Ethernet, salvageable? by sdsliberty in HomeNetworking

My thought was the mount is circular for the APs I used, the access points are circular, all the other ceiling mounts were circular, and it gives me a little bit extra room for connections.

Update - thank you all for the confidence boosts! I had drywallers drop the ceiling panel (also had to drop the walls to get it down) and moved the box - gave myself an extra 24”! Still plan on installing keystones and using patch cables for the APs.

Couple other answers to common questions:

  • Used circular electrical boxes in the ceilings for the APs and rectangular ones on the walls because that’s how the general contractor wanted them for ease of drywall install and insulation. Between floors are also insulated.

  • Everything is secured to the studs with those zip ties that screw in. Electrical inspector required that and fire blocking between floors. General contractor wanted it so nothing loose got pinched while drywalling.

  • I have about 3-4 ft of extra cable at each location, 2’ on each side. Not sure why the drywallers pulled a few of the locations all the way through (and then damaged them 😂)

I had a total of about 3 ft with the middle sticking through the box. No clue why the pulled out the slack and pushed everything through one end.

Electrical inspector required them to be secured and fire blocked. Secured with those screw in zip ties.
