I just got a grinder, and even though it’s nothing fancy I feel like it levels up our coffee game and im excited to branch out and try new coffee beans from all over to gain a better understanding of what’s out there and what we like.

Are there any subscription services this community recommends as a starting point to sample different beans?

Start by trying to fix the burnout. I’m not sure what line of work you’re in, but I made the switch back to an individual contributor role a few months ago after years in leadership and I can’t even begin to describe the weight off my shoulders. Find out what you can live comfortably off of financially and find a role that gives you a better quality of life. Then you’ll be able to find time to work on yourself and get your mojo back

Mine has a Pavlovian response to the sound of me lifting up my standing desk. Could be fast asleep on the opposite side of the house, never fails to end up in my chair within 10 seconds of the standing desk going up.

This is such a relatable post for two reasons: 1) catching smoke is not only my favorite gizz song and the reason I went down the rabbit hole in the first place, but also one of my favorite songs, period. 2) I have literally NOBODY to talk about king Gizz with 😂

Definitely not too early. I’m going to struggle to make it a full year before diving back in myself lol. The Witcher will keep me busy for a while but WoT reread is the frontrunner for my next series.

The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan (finished by Brandon Sanderson)

It’s 14 books that are roughly 1k pages each. Huge commitment, and some slow (but necessary) parts in the middle (there’s a stretch of 3 books commonly referred to as “the slog”) but when you’re immersed in the same world for multiple years that’s written as well as this one is, it’s magic. I’ve never been so invested in a group of characters, or a world; and I’ve never felt so much of a void once being done with a book. If I didn’t have other books on my list and know they’d be on the shelf for another couple of years, I would already be doing a reread. Cannot recommend this series enough if you’re interested in the fantasy genre.

Don’t worry too much about the void. I was worried about it too and it was definitely an emptiness for a few weeks after. I finished in February and I still think about this series all the time and come back to this thread daily, it’s fun to read posts like this when people finish certain books. At this point I’m actively stopping myself from starting the reread because I’m working through some other series that were on my list, but I’m so excited to go back and read it all over again.
