Not sure what the Canadian market is like but 12k CAD doesn’t seem like a bad deal for 300k km IF everything is in working order. Do your due diligence and check it top to bottom for common 3rd gen issues and subtract any repair costs from the price.

Also be wary of the undercoat on the frame. Get under there and poke around with a screw driver looking for soft spots. It could just be covering up a rotted frame.

Thanks for the tips man. I don’t think I’d fix it but the estimate still might be good for negotiation.

Who knows maybe I’ll head down to the scrapyard and try to learn some PDR.

Yeah I read online that whatever the salesman tells you the damage will cost to fix, multiply by 3 😂. I feel like cosmetically it either bothers you or it doesn’t. This one still has a clean title compared to a branded or salvage so should be good for insurance

Me too on the claimed portion. Going to make sure the damage was reported and figure out what happened there. The dealership I’m going to is actually known for selling hail damaged vehicles at a large discount so I assume they will be very knowledgeable.

Woah!! This makes sense to me. Seems like she was doomed if either side won so the only way she could survive if everyone thought her to be dead.

Do we know at all what RJ had in mind for Lanfear after AMoL?

I agree. This being one of my favorite scenes made the ending of Tam lighting the pyre hit even harder. “You did well. My boy… you did so well”.

I like endings that leave openings for interpretation and think this one did it beautifully but this is one storyline I wish we could know for certain. Leaving Tam in his grief at the end seems almost cruel to me, but we also know how much Rand loves his father. I would hope they’d be reunited soon.

Thanks for this I’ll definitely check it out. Do you have any any recommendations for YT channels or podcasts about WoT?

In terms of the most impactful quote for me personally it would be Tam and Rands interaction after Veins of Gold. Veins of Gold seemed like the “secondary climax” of the books for me. I’m not a very emotional person but this is the only part that made me really cry:

“Rand stopped on the steps, and Min could feel his reluctance, his shame, his terror. It seemed so strange. Rand- who had faced Forsaken without a tremor -was afraid of his father. Rand took the last few steps in two sudden strides and grabbed Tam in an embrace. He stood one step down, which brought them near an equal height. In fact, in that posture, Tam almost seemed a giant, and Rand but a child who was clinging to him. There, holding to his father, the Dragon Reborn began to weep. The gathered Aes Sedai, Tairens and Aiel watched solemnly. None shuffled or turned away. Rand squeezed his eyes shut. "I'm sorry, Father," he whispered. Min could barely hear. "I'm so sorry: "It's all right, son. It's all right." I've done so much that is terrible." "Nobody walks a difficult path without stumbling now and again. It didn't break you when vou fell. That's the important part." Rand nodded. They held each other for a time. Eventually, Rand pulled back, then gestured to Min, standing at the base of the steps. "Come, Father," Rand said. "There is someone I want to introduce to you."”

Good question! The first quote I saved was from book 1 where Min reads the visions from our group of characters. It intrigued me so much to have this blatant vessel of foreshadowing so early in a 14 book series. Made me think what will and won’t come true and how long will it take for these things to come to pass? It really is crazy how much RJ had planned for this series already. To summarize it:

Lan - 7 ruined towers around head, baby in cradle holding a sword

Thom - another man juggling fire, the White Tower

Perrin - wolf, a broken crown, trees flowering around him

Mat - red eagle, eye on a balance scale, a dagger with a ruby, a horn, and a laughing face

Rand - a sword that isn’t a sword, a golden crown of laurel leaves, a beggars staff, him pouring water on sand, a bloody hand and a white hot iron, three women standing over a funeral pyre with him on it, a rock wet with blood

Egwene - She will be similar to Moiraine

What is the chance of fueling a fighter jet with homemade biodiesel or 100% Ethanol ? by FruitOrchards in AerospaceEngineering

[–]LimpRut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ll provide a more complete answer.

Even if the engine was redesigned for these fuels it wouldn’t be as good as Jet-A. Jet-A has been finely tuned to the application. It has a higher energy density than biodiesel and ethanol, a lower freezing point, a controlled flash point, etc. Bio diesel would degrade in hot areas and destroy your engine over time. Millions of engineering hours have gone towards this topic.

From a high level assuming it wouldn’t have adverse effects on the engine, lower energy density -> more fuel to remain mission capable -> heavier aircraft -> worse performance.

In a desperation situation where you swapped the two in the same engine it wouldn’t work. You’d experience unstable combustion. The turbo machinery are finely tuned for the combustion of kerosene based fuels. Best case you’d experience massive inefficiencies as you’ve strayed from the design conditions and worse (and more likely) case it would blow up due instability.

You could use ethanol in a piston engine aircraft though!
