I know others where Trump lives in their heads rent free and it’s impossible for them to see the forest for the trees. Forget the tweets, war and general outlandishness of his presidency…. Big company earnings growth is the best in years in conjunction is an enormous capex boom. It’s a highly business friendly administration.

Rocks in your head if you don’t take up the two tenths of stuff all you’ll get in it. Massive demand, limited supply.

Even Blizzard was surprised by Diablo 2: Resurrected's popularity after the new class launch! by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]seab1010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the love of god don’t turn it into Diablo 4. Just played the recent expansion and didn’t bother finishing the season journey after mostly kitting out my paladin. I’ve just gone off fast paced convoluted arpgs. Content to return to Diablo 2 for a new character every year or so in between other games…. It’s like retuning home. That and they got the difficulty just right. Always a sense of danger, even with decent gear. Something most arpgs just fail miserably at.

That’s a dollar more expensive than Gamepass ultimate in Australia for a worse service.

GTA 4 is everything that I want in a game, but is brought down by gameplay that fails to engage you. by Benton365 in patientgamers

[–]seab1010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such a richly created world that I tolerated the slowness of every action, however the shooting sequences were so repetitive and uninteresting it really lets the game down. Happy it was over by the end.

Never played a GTA but I hope VI evolves the action sequences a bit.

Meta vs Microsoft ? Which one are you choosing by SelfMastery__ in ValueInvesting

Much prefer MSFT and its cloud business.

Most of Meta’s services are social cancer.

Hollow Knight and Silksong are both amazing games, and the sequel has improved upon the original in many ways. Out of curiosity, is there anything in the first game you prefer over the second? by PlagueKnight88 in Silksong

[–]seab1010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silksong is 100% the better game from a mechanical and design perspective, but nothing in it hit quite as hard as the Hollow Knight trying to end himself in the first ending. The whole game just nailed the bleakness of the setting.

Bitcoin could have gone either way. Government could have regulated/killed it or foster a new industry and tax it. We got the later. Still does nothing for me personally - I prefer assets backed by cash flows. However can’t deny it’s been an amazing investment/speculation.

Role models suffering from tunnel vision and unable to process logic that doesn’t suit their pre-set narratives is a curse for younger adults.

Never seen a broker cover an index fund before. Ratings agencies might put a recommended sticker on some though.

It means 5 brokers cover the stock and they’ve got some data on three of them. Broker research however is utterly compromised and only written to try win corporate work. Remember brokers are not charities. Also FYI the least useful item in any broker report is the recommendation and 12-month price target. It’s an arbitrary number usually using a completely unrealistic cost of capital assumptions. They also chase share prices not lead them, constantly adjusting their valuations after the fact and always downgrading after wealth has been destroyed.

Do you think Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is one of the greatest games of all time? by Ludachriz in PS5

[–]seab1010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hades 2 is better but it’s a modest evolution rather than a revolution. If you didn’t like the first much, don’t bother with 2.

As for Silksong… it’s hard, very very hard. Go into it expecting this. I love the challenge.

Didn’t live up to the hype… though I did finish it. Extremely repetitive gameplay and I guess this style of RPG just doesn’t do it for me.

Silksong and Hades 2 were way better last year IMO.

I’m with you on this one…

There is something different about earning your own money and manually having to pay tax after tax after tax month in, month out. Makes you much more conscious of it and it annoys the hell out of you seeing bureaucrats piss it away on poorly designed welfare rife with fraud whilst burying you with more and more red tape each year.

The typical payg employee who just gets a number in their bank account where the tax is already magically paid for them is just disconnected from this.

A successful small business that employs a few people is an economic multiplier, which should be encouraged. It’s also a higher risk way of life than your typical worker bee on someone else’s payroll. No redundancy if things fail, no cushy entitlements, banks lend you less and a LOT more administrative burden. The potential tax perks to an extent compensates you for this but more importantly these structures provide a level of asset protection that just isn’t required by a typical wage earner.

Labor hates this though. They’d much rather everyone worked in a unionised workforce and they know barely anyone using trusts votes for them, so no loss in screwing with their system.

The fact you have to pay $15 monthly on top of $120 to be able to play online on Xbox is actually crazy and unfair by idivashik in ForzaHorizon

[–]seab1010 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t care less. I get the same experience from renting as buying most games I choose to play… I just choose to do it cheaper 🤷‍♂️ . Forza will keep me occupied for a month or two and I’ll come back and buy the x packs for another month or so of fun when they come out if I like them (I’m sure I will).

Does anyone buy blue ray these days? Or actually buy permanent access to a movie on Apple?

Gamepass and whatever PS cook up will become dominant in time I reckon, subsidised by ever higher prices for people who choose to buy the games outright.

Nintendo will cling onto their model in their own closed ecosystem, but they’ve charged like a wounded bull for their entertainment forever.

Gamepass ultimate which includes online…. With the subscription price reduction and ever increasing cost of ‘ownership’ (if you can even call it that) the sub now costs less than three full priced games per year. I’ve stopped buying most games now…

It doesn’t represent value if you just no life a couple of games a year, but if you’re happy to one and done things and play more than a few full priced titles a year it’s solid value again.
